Hi everyone,

Awhile ago there was a thread going where we wrote what our toddlers had eaten each day and it was great seeing how/what others were eating. It was really helpful.

I just wondered if anyone fancied starting it up again.

DS 22m
Breakfast - 1 1/2 pancakes made from banana egg and oats. 4 chunks of melon
Snack - 2/3rds of a satsuma
Lunch - pork loin steak, carrots, parsnips, peas. 3 bites of boiled potato with butter
Snack - was on a playdate so some scrambled egg as we arrived while they were eating lunch. 2 strawberries 2x crackers and couple pieces of pineapple.
Tea - couple chunks of chicken, slice of pepper and probably half a mouthful of egg noodles. 4 chunks of melon.

I thought this was going to be about the strange things toddlers eat!

I came into say mine took a small bite of one of those chemical things you hang on the loo Shock. In my defence it was a place we were staying at and I hadn't checked out all hazards.

Clearly it was tasty as she kept trying to go back for more Confused

Grin I thought the exact same, allot.

I was on to say my DD's been at the chili-flavour gherkins dipped in coffee. Again. Weirdo.

meepmoop · 16/06/2019 22:19

Breakfast - blueberry wheats and milk

Snack - berries and half a banana

Lunch - we went out for 3 course lunch with DH family to a hotel so had a random assortment of food from everyone's plates and about 2 bread rolls. Also cheese, ham, veg sticks
That I took to placate him

17 m old
Breastfeed

A yogurt tube (df) and half a strawberry

Breastfeed

A pouch of Ella sweet potato

4 veggie straw crisps, 2 slices of cucumber, some organic black currant star snacks, 5oz bottle of toddler milk.
Breastfeed before bed

Hardly eats. Chucks all the nice things I make off the tray so I’ve given up and will just let him eat what he wants to
He gets a multivitamin and iron so he’s ok

Mummoomoocow · 16/06/2019 23:43

This whole thread breaks my heart

My 17 month old hasn’t put in any weight in three months and the hv’s are telling me it’s my fault because I breastfeed him more than twice a day

He just won’t eat anything I offer him and then gets understandably hungry and refuses anything but boob from that point

I can’t just feed him what he likes either because one meal he’ll eat 2 chicken nuggets and he next day he’s disgusted by them

I really need some advice, I have no idea what I’m doing anymore

IABUQueen · 17/06/2019 00:59

mummoom I’m breastfeeding and breastfeed my 17 mo more than twice a day ( whenever he needs to sleep).

He is 9th percentile.

My advice is to skip the HV point of view and get referred to dietician if high have concerns.

They seem to want to offer random advice about breastfeeding these days.

Your son is going through a phase. Mine did too

Mummoomoocow · 17/06/2019 01:14

@iabuqueen thank you for responding

It’s nice to hear it’s something that won’t last forever honestly, I’ll definitely request a dietician referral, thanks

PmTrouble · 17/06/2019 10:48

Feed my 17 m o more than twice too ! See above ! And he hardly eats

InMyOwnParticularIdiom · 17/06/2019 19:12

Dry Cheerios (not many)

Banana and Pom bears

Egg and bacon on toast

Dino paws, a couple of rice cakes

Naan bread and sweet corn (she was offered the chicken korma and rice we were eating but declined!)
Yogurt

InMyOwnParticularIdiom · 17/06/2019 19:14

Today DD said 'I like bread, sweetcorn, bacon and chips', which pretty much sums it up if you add bananas too

LauraPalmersBodybag · 17/06/2019 19:25

Can I come here and be really proud of myself please? My dd is 3.5 and has been becoming progressively fussy. She’s never had a bad diet but it’s not been wonderful so I’ve been working really hard on attitudes towards veg, serving her more variety and trying to remove pressure from mealtimes.

Today she ate:

  • 2 weetabix & handful of dried apricots
  • 1/2 banana wrap with peanut butter
  • scrambled egg on toast
  • sweet potato muffin, sweetcorn and cucumber
  • homemade meatballs and pasta
  • plain yoghurt with apple and honey

I don’t think it’s seminal, but it also kinda is!

Thesearmsofmine · 17/06/2019 20:12

Cheese and apple on toast and some raisins

Salmon fishcake(he ate about 1/2 of a full size one), baby potatoes(he ate 1) and carrots with sweet chilli sauce

Apple pie and custard

Shared a millionaires shortbread with me in Costa

A picky plate of chicken breast chunks, crackers, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, coleslaw, strawberries, blueberries and a yogurt

Jerryboree · 17/06/2019 20:39

Laurapalmer sounds like a lovely variety Smile I'd be chuffed if mine had eaten that, she's similar not particularly fussy but pushing the boundaries a bit more as she's getting older

Muesli, no added sugar but still pretty high naturally I imagine

Veggie pasta and cake at nursery

Big cookie from the coffee shop

Cheese sandwich with 1 slice bread, veg sticks and hummus. Ellas fruit pouch (she's a bit constipated)

Camomila · 17/06/2019 21:19

Starving at breakfast and had: A bowl of hoops, a blueberry mini muffin, strawberries and grapes, chunk of cheese. (because no night time breastfeed)

Nursery: Who knows as DH did pick up "I think there was cauliflower cheese"

Dinner: fish, green beans and cherry tomatoes.

A glass of elderflower cordial before bed (treat/bribe as no breastfeed)

FlatPackPat · 17/06/2019 22:08

Breakfast - banana porridge with cacao nibs and chia seeds made with almond milk
1 slice of peanut butter on toast

Snack- Pom bears. Biscuit at playgroup.

Lunch- kind of non existent tbh.. he had some strawberries and a little bread. Some puff crisps.

Dinner - finally the one meal he eats that is nutritious! DP makes refried beans with black beans, carrot, onion.. tbh I'm not even sure what else and I'm continually amazed that DS eats it but hey! I usually hide som mashed avocado and cheddar cheese in there too. He probably ate about half a large soft tortilla too. Banana, strawberry and almond milk smoothie with chia seeds.

I'm currently weaning him off breast milk atm. I'm pg and my supply has actually dried up anyway so he hasn't been getting any milk for a while, it's just the comfort thing.

Mummabear12345567889 · 18/06/2019 14:14

Cornflakes with a dash of maple syrup because it was blaaaaah!!! On it's own.

3 rice cakes at 9.30am

A mini oaty bar (post gymnastics snack)

Frozen spaghetti on toast (he adores elsa so will eat anything with her face on)

Planning on home made burgers and wedges tonight but will depend which way the wind it blowing whether he eats it.

Mummabear12345567889 · 18/06/2019 14:16

I meant frozen as in the film. I didn't give him frozen spaghetti on toast....

Thesearmsofmine · 18/06/2019 18:29

2 weetabix with strawberries and blueberries

A chicken sandwich, some cucumber, a few crisps and melon slices. We baked so he had a muffin that we’d made.

A few Organix mini gingerbread men

Mini toad in the hole with cheesy mash, peas and onion gravy

Yogurt

Faster · 18/06/2019 18:40

B - shreddies and half an apple
S - banana at the park
L - scrambled eggs, mushrooms and beans on a marmite covered crumpet
T - he took one look at his veggie chilli and spurned the lot. So he had some plain rice with red pesto stirred in with watermelon and a yoghurt.

InMyOwnParticularIdiom · 18/06/2019 21:55

Weetabix with prune purée and banana

2 biscuits at playgroup

Chicken noodle soup, breadsticks
Few bites of flapjack, grapes

Cream cheese with breadsticks

Paw patrol pasta with cream cheese (declined the lamb and aubergine sauce I had made for the pasta)
Yogurt

FlatPackPat · 19/06/2019 22:44

B - porridge with almond milk, banana, cacao nibs and chia seeds. A dash of maple syrup. A big bowl for him and a quarter of mine too!

Afternoon/lunch - ready salted crisps Blush tiny bit of bread when we were out. 2 slices of peanut butter on toast. Half a banana. A green Ella fruit pouch thing and half a pink Ella fruit pouch thing. A little bit of a strawberry milk ice cream thing (what child doesn't finish an ice cream?!)

Dinner - pasta with butter and Parmesan. Only half his bowl. Smoothie of banana (too much banana today on reflection!!), blueberries, strawberries, almond milk, chia seeds and a handful of oats.

No breast milk as my pregnancy has made my supply dry up Sad he had a good go though!
