Anyone else? ...share your really daft ideas that you think could work...

So, laughing at myself really....( and obviously too much time on my hands...no actually divergence tactics...should be waxing the new floor!)

I often wonder why we don't sleep upside down...(hear me out???) because that would help my ever increasing saggy, wrinkled face to be smooth.

My thinking is that by sleeping upside down or (maybe more practically in a sloping bed, feet higher than head)' gravity would pull my face the other way for 8 hours a day, combatting the sagging. I know I have creases on my face from sleeping on my side, squashing lines into my cheeks, these wouldn't be there.

Anyone else, share your daft ideas. ( or explain mine...perhaps I have unwittingly invented a new bed! )

@TyneTeas and @DirtyDennis - I've just clicked on the Cautionary Tales link only to see that I actually recognise the first photograph: it happened a few years ago in a park local to me Grin. The boy was relaxing between GCSE exams at the time and almost missed one Grin.

SamanthaJayne4 · 29/05/2019 09:08

When I worked I did wonder whether one day each desk might have it's own built in printer/copier. I think that could well happen.

JellySlice · 29/05/2019 09:22

I want an HRT implant. It exists for birth control, why not for menopause? I'm going to be on these hormones for years (the rest of my life, I hope!) and I'm not going to want it out to have babies, so why do I have to faff around with patches that come off when I go swimming and prescriptions every four weeks for stuff which keeps going put of stock at pharmacies?

(Erm...I think my patch may have come off...)

Iwantacookie · 29/05/2019 09:40

Nightclubs should open at 5pm for over 30s only so I can leave and be home in bed for 9pm

JellySlice · 29/05/2019 10:44

Yes! And they should provide all customers with bonephones so that everyone can have the music as loud or as quiet as they like, and still be able to have conversations.

MarniLou · 29/05/2019 11:08

I'm still loving these, what a giggle.

The epi-pen for toddlers made me laugh out loud ( tongue in cheek of course 😈)

One invention which I do appreciate, as I HATE supermarket shopping ( live on toast rather than go to the shop) is home delivery ( I can't think of a better way to spend £3.50 and such good value for what you get) ....it just falls way short, why doesn't the driver come in and put it way for me too? I'd leave him/her a key!!!😉

@crosser62 completely agree with you - surely it is possible to make solar roof tiles that don't look as weird as the full size panels. And why isn't solar power just made mandatory for all new build houses and office buildings.

BasiliskStare · 29/05/2019 15:06

@shitbagbobbly - dogs who can walk underwater in canals - obviously not possible but an amusing thought

Ticklingcheese · 29/05/2019 15:22

Must be kidding, please see link 😨 🤣

Oh. I came on to say that we should sack the entire parliament and have a general election but no one who has ever been elected before is allowed to run. It's like the big chop for politics. The newbies couldn't possibly make a bigger balls-up of it all, could they?

I guess this is a much more practical and uplifting thread. I want the self-hoovering house.

crosser62 · 29/05/2019 20:17

Those that “calculate carefully how much money we have in the system “ should just fuck off for an hour and let someone loose in the money factory to print a billion billion more pounds ...and not tell any one because no one cares as long as stuff gets done to make a shitty life for millions of people a wee bit better.
Those who “calculate carefully “ need to reassess how much is needed because I’m not being funny but they are absolutely shite at their jobs and can’t do maths.
There’s not enough.
It causes human misery and contributes to avoidable death.

That isn’t right.

TyneTeas · 29/05/2019 20:25

If we are having underwater dogs, we need underwater CCTV.

Underwater dogs are awesome

Self-pairing socks. There must be a way to keep track of them in pairs somehow.

TyneTeas · 29/05/2019 20:33

Some good sock theory here Geranium

Geraniumpink · 29/05/2019 20:38

Thanks TyneTeas ! It’s one of the unsolved mysteries of the universe.

Kpo58 · 29/05/2019 20:40

Teabags on a roll. It would be so much easier being able to year off a strip of them when doing a tea round at work.

Netted cosytoes for buggies for the summer. Keeps the baby cool and stops the socks/shoes from getting lost.

Graphista · 29/05/2019 20:54

Magnetic teaspoons with the corresponding magnet in the cutlery drawer and very powerful - stop losing teaspoons!

ifigoup · 29/05/2019 20:58

This thread is genius and is what I come to Mumsnet for. Well done to all concerned.

SnugglySnerd · 30/05/2019 02:02

kpo that would be fab they could be UV proof too.

BasiliskStare · 30/05/2019 02:18

@TyneTeas - I and my DS's godfather were rowing on a canal with our spouses and came up with the idea of underwater dogs ( because we could see dog walkers found a towpath difficult to negotiate with dogs and couples walking in opposite directions) Your photographs are fabulous. So dogs who can have a walk on a canal path but do it underwater in the canal because there isn't really enough space. What is not to like - someone needs to breed underwater dogs for people who live near or frequent canals and tow paths. Just an idea - The underwater CCTV is a nuance we had not thought of but - good thought. Grin Excellent @TyneTeas

BasiliskStare · 30/05/2019 02:25

So one more which I heard on the radio once ( can't remember which programme but just to say not my original idea but brilliant IMHO) which is a company called We have found your stuff dot com. And their thing is that if you have lost something and then find it , you are happier than if you had never lost it in the first place. So this ( fictional) company - steals your stuff , hides it and then at some point phones you and says I have found X or Y . Not sure it is as good as underwater dogs - but worth a mention I thought

Bedsheets4knickers · 30/05/2019 02:55

World peace ✌️

hesagooddog · 30/05/2019 03:42

@SnugglySnerd Dyson make an attachment for vacuuming your dog.

There's also the Bark Bath which is brushing your dog and cleaning it without a full bath, it uses an attachment on a carpet cleaning machine.

BasiliskStare · 30/05/2019 04:34

@hesagooddog

We have a dyson attachment for hoovering dogs - fabulous invention Grin
