Mine would be Andrew Gosden, not a week goes by where I don't wonder what happend to him!
What's yours? Bonus points if you include your on theory of what happend!

Nicola Payne a young mum who went missing near me. She went walking across a field and never reached the other side. I think the police know exactly who did it but can't find the evidence. They have never closed the case.

Justincase87 · 28/05/2019 12:30

The Andrew Gosden case has always haunted me since I first heard about it - I always light a candle for him when I visit a church or cathedral. I really don't know what could have happened to him, but it's heartbreaking to think someone could just leave the house one day and disappear like that.

HollowTalk · 28/05/2019 12:33

I've just looked up the Andrew Gosden case - how awful for his family.

Walkamileinmyshoesbeforeujudge · 28/05/2019 12:36

Madeleine McCann
Sad

Groovee · 28/05/2019 12:37

I'd like the body of Suzanne Pilley to be found to give her family closure.

LittleAndOften · 28/05/2019 12:41

Melanie Hall from Bath, found murdered in 1996. I was 17 when she disappeared from a nightclub and was found near where I lived. It could have been me or any of my friends which was terrifying. The murderer has never been found.

CharleyFarleyy · 28/05/2019 12:43

Does anyone have a theory on what happend to AG? That fact that he didn't buy the return ticket did cause me to think of suicide what I first read it but I can't see that his body wouldn't have been found (I'm sure I read they scanned the Thames? Could be mistaken).

Online grooming is another thought i had but apparently he didn't really have access to computers and any he did access had been searched.

Leads me to think he skipped school either for an event (gig?) Or just for the sake of skipping school and fucking off to London for the day and being met by foul play.

The Roanoke Colony - I think they probably did assimilate (hopefully peacefully) with local tribes but who knows? Became really obsessed with this when my dna matched with various research projects aimed at tracing their descendants.

I think he could have been meeting up with someone he met online and didn't get a return because he didn't know if he would stay or not - kids are a lot more savvy online than parents think and he was a clever young lad by the sounds of it, I managed to hide a lot from my parents at that age, as did friends of mine, we were chatting to (and stupidly meeting up with) all sorts of people online - the fact he didn't take his handheld console charger was a bit weird, but maybe it had enough battery for a day or two and he didn't plan to be gone longer for that?

TheVanguardSix · 28/05/2019 12:51

The AG case is haunting. He looks a bit like my own son who is now 17. And I remember when DS was about 13-14 and I’d see those posters of AG (still see them about all the time), it would, and still does, sting.

Madeleine McCann, of course.
Ben Needham too.

So many... but those three spring to mind.

shellysheridan · 28/05/2019 12:53

Amy Bradley

MaiaRindell · 28/05/2019 13:17

Kyron Hormon. I was on holiday in the US when he disappeared and it has stayed with me. Like the OP, I think about it weekly.

HollowTalk · 28/05/2019 13:22

Wikipedia says that Andrew didn't have a PC at home and didn't have an email address. It says they searched school computers but found nothing.

Grotesque · 28/05/2019 13:25

I don't think I could pick just one. All of the missing children. I've been reading about Asha Degree and Lisa Irwin recently.

CharleyFarleyy · 28/05/2019 13:36

@shellysheridan Amy Bradley case really gets to me as well! The pictures they found of the woman on online that could be her are haunting!

Also Natalee Holloway as there are connections to that case but I think it's very widely accepted that she was murdered and who by

CharleyFarleyy · 28/05/2019 13:37

@hollowtalk I read (on reddit?) That AG had a computer at home but I think it was maybe his sister's and I think his parents said he didn't really take an interest in it, of course that could be a load of rubbish

OP posts:
CharleyFarleyy · 28/05/2019 13:38

@grotesque Asha Degree baffles me. What made he leave the house in the middle of the night in a thunderstorm?!

OP posts:
shellysheridan · 28/05/2019 13:39

I agree op, so haunting. I think of her regularly. The possible sightings are really scary too. I hope she's found

MorrisZapp · 28/05/2019 13:41

I think Ben Needham was accidentally killed shortly after he went missing, that came out quite recently.

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/05/2019 13:46

Susy Lamplugh and to have the body of Keith Bennett found.

CharleyFarleyy · 28/05/2019 13:50

On a personal level there is a case close to my heart, it's the murder of Lynne Trenholm. My mum was friends with her and had no idea she was a sex worker until she was murdered. If anyone is interested in the case if you Google her one of the first things that comes up is my write up of the case on the unresolved mysteries sub on reddit.

What really happened to poor little Caylee Anthony. I was in Orlando at the time her body was found and to this day don’t understand how there has been no justice for her.

Spidey66 · 28/05/2019 14:10

Where Lord Lucan went, and if he definitely murdered Sandra Rivett.
