What fresh hell awaits us now? She was really emotional.

My heart goes out to her - No one could have tried harder to get the deal done.

Nogodsnomasters · 24/05/2019 10:13

She's delusional. I dread to think what's coming next.

Sirzy · 24/05/2019 10:13

About time. She has let things get to a nice low through her stubbornness.

TheSpottedZebra · 24/05/2019 10:14

I am no tory, but I thought her speech was excellent.

As she is a woman, all the chat will now be about her emotions.

Plus ca change...

SunnySomer · 24/05/2019 10:14

She did sound emotional yes. Six weeks of jostling now to replace her? She won’t actually resign until 7 june

Disfordarkchocolate · 24/05/2019 10:15

I have sympathy for her personally and don't think anyone else is going to breeze in and make a deal. Her idea of her achievements, I don't agree with many of those.

Langrish · 24/05/2019 10:16

Do hope this doesn’t become all about her being a woman. She had to go because she was a poor PM, as have been countless men.

chandylier · 24/05/2019 10:17

The world has gone to shit
I despair
I’m certainly no fan, but she got the shitty end of the stick and I dread to think what’s in store now for the leadership of our country.

FiremanKing · 24/05/2019 10:17

Bye Felicia!!

That’s the kindest thing I can say about her.

Stillneedwillpower · 24/05/2019 10:17

I think she's been treated appallingly and I really feel for her. I truly believe she did her best, and I think all the back stabbing is disgusting.
I don't think her successor will be able to do any better.
It's either her deal or remain, so no-one else is going to achieve a better deal as we've no leverage since no deal was taken off the table.

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse!

Sonicknuckles · 24/05/2019 10:18

I think she tried her best but people just kept putting barriers up and wouldn't let her get on with it

KnifeAngel · 24/05/2019 10:18

It's time for a general election. Get these muppets out who have no idea how "normal people" live.

NoBaggyPants · 24/05/2019 10:19

@lovemyflipflops Does your heart go out to the hundreds of thousands of people living in poverty as a result of austerity? Save your sympathy for the victims of this government.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 24/05/2019 10:19

I think as a PM she was handed a shit sandwich and never stood a chance. I also think it'll be a long, long time before we see another woman PM because her legacy will be "that Brexit shite".

God help us all if it's the bookies favourite BJ because he's a lying devil with no conscience and the morals of my feral cat.

IceRebel · 24/05/2019 10:20

I'm terrified by who could replace her.

NoBaggyPants · 24/05/2019 10:20

@Stillneedwillpower In legal terms, no deal is very much still a possibility.

derxa · 24/05/2019 10:20

I feel she's an honorable woman, DH disagrees. We're having a heated debate. Grin

YouWhoNeverArrived · 24/05/2019 10:22

I am no Tory but I feel very sorry for her. She was in an impossible position regarding Brexit. She was quite right, in her speech, to allude to the importance of compromise. She is clearly frustrated with how the negotiations have played out. I don't agree with a lot of what her Government has done, but I'm not sure anyone else could have done a better job of trying to implement the catastrophe that is Brexit.

HappyDinosaur · 24/05/2019 10:23

Scary to think of her replacement...never thought I'd prefer her over anyone (being anything but tory) but the alternatives at the mo are terrifying.

yermawyabas · 24/05/2019 10:23

I feel sorry for her.

swimmerforlife · 24/05/2019 10:23

Not on her side of politics but she's shown a great deal of dedication and determination.

I dread to think who's going to replace her. If its Boris, I am completely grateful I have emigrated.

BenWillbondsPants · 24/05/2019 10:24

I'm terrified by who could replace her.

And me.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/05/2019 10:25

I'm a remainer, not a Tory and wasn't impressed by her attitude to Larry :) but I thought she did a fantastic job given the circumstances.

It's David Cameron who started this rot with a 'one stage' referendum.

TheQueef · 24/05/2019 10:26

Wish she'd just said screw you guys I'm going home.

So Boris then?

Nquartz · 24/05/2019 10:27

@BenWillbondsPants

Yup, me too.
