What fresh hell awaits us now? She was really emotional.

Britain has become a laughing stock on the world stage. She has done incredible work with vipers against her from all corners, can't wait to see what comes next for you guys. Another shitshow, no doubt.

CatCatDog · 24/05/2019 10:57

As things are likely to get worse perhaps the next PM won't last very long either.

InTheEndgameNow · 24/05/2019 10:58

I have no sympathy for her. Her speech was awful. Banging on about her record on equality two days after this UN report:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-48354692

Just proves how delusional she is.

magicBrenda · 24/05/2019 10:58

It’s an absolute shit show. Embarrassing.

There is NO one from either sides capable of leading us. They all need to sacked and sent the fuck home

DarlingNikita · 24/05/2019 10:58

She shed no tears for the people of Grenfell Tower, the people dead from having their benefits cut illegally or the kids bombed by UK funded weapons… she pushed herself forward for the position to take the heat off Boris and Gove who fucked the country.
Totally agree. Couldn't give a flying fuck if she was 'emotional' about leaving. She set up the 'hostile environment' and the 'Go Home' vans. She called people citizens of nowhere. She spent magically-appearing money that the country previously didn't have on propping herself up with the medieval bunch of cunts who are the DUP. She antagonised the EU negotiators at every turn.

The only tragedy is that the candidates to replace her are horrific.

Yes. Fresh hell.

swimmerforlife · 24/05/2019 10:59

@julensaor not just the UK. I can tell you from living in Australia that the constant stream of Prime Ministers over the past 10 years (I cant even remember how many we've had) has done absolutely nothing for our country, and led to even more instability.

Changing PMs is not the answer.

StayAChild · 24/05/2019 10:59

Like a pp I feel very sorry for her on a personal level. I believe she really thought she was doing her best, stubbornly carrying on and on with a dead deal.

I don't think for a minute she will sail off into the sunset without another thought for the mess she and her colleagues have created. It will haunt her to the end of her days. She desperately wanted to see Brexit through to its conclusion, costing us billions in the process. She should have resigned after the last election.

mydogisthebest · 24/05/2019 11:00

Ok a lot of you hate her but do you honestly think anyone else will do a better job? It looks like it may well be Boris which is a frightening thought.

I don't agree with most tory policies and have never voted for them in my life but, honestly, did Labour do any better a job? I was a Labour supporter for years but not after Blair.

Unless Labour throw loads of benefit money at families, unemployed etc how are thing going to get any better?

AlunWynsKnee · 24/05/2019 11:00

She wasn't handed a poisoned chalice. She ran forward and grabbed it. And proceeded to make awful decisions at every turn.
Triggering A50, calling an election, losing her majority, an agreement with the DUP and her red lines. All awful decisions.
She was a useless Home Secretary and she's been a useless PM.
To cap it all she's going to be followed by someone likely to be less useless but steering us into disaster.

BrendasUmbrella · 24/05/2019 11:02

I'm surprised. I thought she was going to cling on till the bitter end. Maybe this is the bitter end...

Well she got her turn at being PM. I expect she'll have a jolly time on the speech circuit with Dave and Gideon. And we wait to see who fucks us up the arse next...

Fatasfooook · 24/05/2019 11:02

So because her voice quivered everyone now feels sorry for her? Her voice was quivering out of frustration. She does not deserve empathy

BiggerBoat1 · 24/05/2019 11:03

Finally

PeoniesarePink · 24/05/2019 11:04

We should be out of the EU by now, and the only option is a strong PM who will insist on a no deal, get it bloody done and dusted and free us from the shackles that the majority (including myself) voted for all that time ago.

Peridot1 · 24/05/2019 11:05

I felt I little bit sorry for her. But not much.

Her about turns on Brexit - campaigning for Remain and then switching after the referendum and saying she wouldn’t call a GE and then calling one amongst others. Staying stuck in June 2016 and not taking into account that so much has changed. Ignoring the illegalities around the Referendum. Etc etc. She was a nightmare.

But the next nightmare could be worse. Will more than likely be worse.

I’ve been saying for months that I won’t live in a country with Boris Bloody Johnson as PM. So that will be interesting.

No deal is more likely now which will be a complete horror show.

Brexit is bloody impossible to deliver and it needs someone strong and principled and honest to stand up and say so. But they are all out for themselves and/or stupid so that won’t happen.

I despair.

Pomegranatepompom · 24/05/2019 11:05

I feel terribly sorry for her. Austerity wasn't just down to TM was it, why is she getting blame for that too? She was in a terrible situation and I doubt anyone can do a better job. Her colleagues were shameful.

It's all so depressing, I can only hope Lib Dems get a surge of support of JC resigns, I can't think what other hope there is.

NotAnotherJaffaCake · 24/05/2019 11:05

I don’t know who we’ll get. I know that many Conservative MPs know that Boris is electoral suicide, and may even back a general election instead of Boris. So he might get Cons. leadership but for how long? And also, can he force through no deal?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/05/2019 11:06

So we’re going to get a few blue rinse tories picking the next unelected Prime Minister. I hope we have an election soon.
I have no sympathy for her. When did she ever compromise on anything?
Her European peers obviously think she’s an idiot.
I just want a decent tort leader like Dominic Grieve.

PostNotInHaste · 24/05/2019 11:06

I do think if there had of been someone different at the start after Cameron then things could have been different. They needed to have accepted the vote was close, looked at what caused the result, started cross party talks before triggering Article 50 and attempted to find consensus before people starting becoming so entrenched.

But we are where we are now and I don’t think History will be kind to her, or Corbyn for that matter.

brilliotic · 24/05/2019 11:09

My only regret is that I think there is a possibility that a new PM will get the deal voted through. That same deal that TM tried and failed to get through parliament three times. When a man someone strong, trustworthy, reliable proposes that exact deal to parliament, it might go through.
Because we all know that when a woman has an idea/proposal, it doesn't count - but when a man proposes the same thing, it does.

So BJ (or whoever) will get the credit for getting the deal through. Maybe in fact TM has realised that the country is so mysogynistic that if she wants the deal to go through, she will have to allow a man to take the credit for it.

NameChangeNugget · 24/05/2019 11:10

It’s a poor state of affairs at the moment.

She’s been an appalling PM but, has only got away with it because the opposition leader is possibly the worst in living memory. The LibDems are an irrelevance.

What a shambles

Pomegranatepompom · 24/05/2019 11:11

I'd rather Boris than Corbyn and I never thought I'd say that.
As an NHS worked, I have intestines dislike to Hunt (as do most).

Pomegranatepompom · 24/05/2019 11:12

Not intestines obviously intense !

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/05/2019 11:12

She can now pass the poisoned chalice to someone else.

Who undoubtedly will come up with the perfect deal and get an agreement in no time.
As if.

Littleheart5 · 24/05/2019 11:12

God knows she tried. She must be so exhausted it’s not funny. No Tory either, but she gave it all she could

Wereeaglesdare · 24/05/2019 11:13

WTH I think I'm starting to get a demographic of mumsnetters. TURN OFF BBC PEOPLE AND GET A CLUE! It's easy to feel sorry for people when your life is not effected by this sham of a government. When the only thing u have to complain about is your bloody cleaner and your ivory tower has too many rooms to decorate. This woman and her nightmare party are responsible for countless deaths. There are children going to bed starving in this the fifth richest economy in the world. There are mothers watering down formula. You support a woman who rolled out the red carpet for someone who thinks women shouldn't even have rights to their own body. She chose the role and we all know she is just some wooden puppet with some rich idiots hand up her back side and she certainly dances like one. It saddens me that this is the reason why we will never have a labour government because of people thinking she is trying her hardest and poor theresa may she is just the daughter of thatcher, the witch who privatised everything. I bet these people also think corbyn is a terrorist sympathiser. Yes we should all be afraid of what's to come next if this is the state our county is in, thousands of people living in poverty and our pathetic media making us turn against our neighbours distracting and diverting our attention away from the millions lost in tax evasion. Shame on anyone who votes tory and especially shame on those who are working class who vote for tory becayse they have never done anything for you
I pray that this forces general election I pray that corbyn comes in to power because he is the only fair one. And for all those people who think he is weak I implore you to watch a debate between him and may u will soon see who is weaker and who lies.
