Are there any conspiracy theories that you just think could have an element of truth?

I love all things conspiracy theory - from a psychological/social point of view it's interesting to see what makes people fearful or pessimistic.

But I often do see some conspiracy theories a bit like Urban legends in that they could be an exaggerated truth.

Are there any conspiracy theories or rumours that you just think 'maybe...' or even ones you're completely sold on.

The death of Prince Rogers Nelson.
How did he come to have such a massive amount of Fentanyl in his system, surely he would have died before he could have swallowed the amount he was found to have ingested? Where did he obtain the drugs from? You would think that in the case of such a high profile death that something would have been unearthed by the Police investigation, but it’s my understanding that nothing has been discovered.

Bishops pm was written out in the last couple of posts.

I didn’t realise that it was that, I’ve read that theory on here before, not long before said singer went on an extended Summer Holiday.

Thought there might be something else.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/05/2019 21:08

Peaches was murdered??? I didn’t get the memo on that one.

SemperIdem · 21/05/2019 21:13

Same Dobby. I really doubt Peaches was murdered though. She was a drug addict. who relapsed with fatal consequences, not famed for her hard hitting journalism or research skills at any point in her too short life.

For future reference there's a simple conspiracy flowchart you can use to determine these things.

(Did the person die?) --Yes> (Were they famous?) -Yes---> It was murder

You do realise that two grams counts as a “massive quantity” of fentanyl pannalash? It’s really really easy to overdose on because you need to dilute it so heavily to get it down to an appropriate dosage, and one tiny particle too much at an early stage can make all the difference.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/05/2019 21:35

What is ‘fentanyl pannalash’

SemperIdem · 21/05/2019 22:14

It’s a synthetic opioid, google tells me. Never heard of it before however.

Is that in relation to Peaches Geldof Anyone? I was under the impression she died after infecting actual heroin?

SemperIdem · 21/05/2019 22:14

*injecting

BishopBrennansArse · 21/05/2019 22:24

@Firstimpressionsofearth some say Mike Smith too, think that's a bit hmmm

FiremanKing · 21/05/2019 22:32

@NunoGoncalves

That is utterly brilliant! Grin

AnyoneButAnton · 21/05/2019 22:34

I was replying to the poster Pannalash above, who was talking about the death of Prince without perhaps appreciating that a “massive overdose” of fentanyl can be caused by a tiny physical quantity of the drug. Now it does seem likely someone must have been acting illegally to get the drugs to him, and the cops don’t seem to have made much attempt to investigated, but tragically it’s not that unexpected an event. Opioid overdose is such a huge problem that it’s starting to drive down national life expectancy in the US, and even the UK. Happens literally every day.

Pannalash · 21/05/2019 22:48

Whoa Anyone bit condescending there Hmm.

Prince apparently had a concentration level of 450 micrograms of fentanyl per kg in his liver, and it’s acknowledged that liver concentrations greater the 69 micrograms per kg can be fatal. So I think I was justified in the wording of my initial post.

Pannalash · 21/05/2019 22:49

greater 'than'

NunoGoncalves · 21/05/2019 22:49

Another example of the importance of commas.

Firstimpressionsofearth · 22/05/2019 03:33

I think the theory about peaches comes from the amount of heroine she took. Apparently it was a lot, more than a normal amount. I don't think she was researching into pedos, she just knew due to her celeb connections and had a big mouth, apparently.

MrsGaryLightbody · 22/05/2019 09:08

@Firstimpressionsofearth
See my posting below!

Here's mine. A well known entertainer is accused of being involved in a Tree investigation.
The police had a (locked ) file on him at least ten years before it came to light. He's loved enough by Royals etc and even has gall to sue his accusers.
I always believe that the truth will come out one day.

Sagradafamiliar · 22/05/2019 09:56

Why is that entertainer so well protected though? Why is he above the police? Is it because of his connections? His back catalogue is shockingly dire and shit after all.

thenightsky · 22/05/2019 10:03

Sagradafamiliar

I've always wondered that too. Most odd.

BishopBrennansArse · 22/05/2019 10:26

@Sagradafamiliar that's exactly it, if he sang like a canary it'd be catastrophic therefore he's protected. It'll be Savile +++

Tighnabruaich · 22/05/2019 11:24

The person we are hinting at has taken out the nationality of another country - one which doesn't have an extradition treaty with the UK.

Tighnabruaich · 22/05/2019 11:24

"taken on the nationality"

BestBeforeYesterday · 22/05/2019 11:25

The majority of the world are like sheep and just believe what they are told in the news. I'm glad they are lots of people that do question major events in the world.
It seems the world is divided into those who just believe what they are told in the news, and those who just believe what they are told by a conspiracy theory. I don't see how believing a conspiracy theory is in any way "questioning" anything.

it’s acknowledged that liver concentrations greater the 69 micrograms per kg can be fatal.
Enzymes in the liver work d faster when they are regularly exposed to opioids, which is why drug users have to increase the dose again and again. If you take them for years, you will easily metabolise a dose many times the multiple of the usual lethal dose.
