47&50, ick! I'm nearly 47, thankfully my girls are showing no desire to procreate.

TunstallTansy · 16/05/2019 11:04

Parents were mid 40s.

This thread has made me think, mine and dp's families pretty much always have had four generations. Our dc are late teens and dp has two grandparents living.

I became a granny around 41 when my some and his gf had their little boy .

soulrunner · 16/05/2019 11:10

Both 62. I remember my great grandparents on my dad's side but I cant see another time when they'll be more than 3 generations tbh

Damntheman · 16/05/2019 11:15

My mum was 61. I have half siblings so my dad was ... 55? (14 years between my parents). My brother is a grandparent too and he was pretty young for it! 35 I think? Young parent begot young parent. They both did fab jobs though, my niece is amazing, my grand-niece is amazing I'm so proud of them

UnderTheSeaWithMe · 16/05/2019 11:16

Both sets were 57 and 55 but our DC are not their first born DGC.

BogglesGoggles · 16/05/2019 11:21

I feel old reading this thread, people here must be much younger than me!

OurChristmasMiracle · 16/05/2019 11:33

Mum was 63 my dad would have be 79 (he passed away)

My mums indignant cries of “you can’t call me grandmother I’m far too young” was ignored by myself. Grin

CountFosco · 16/05/2019 11:40

To balance out the young parents I was pregnant with DS at FIL's 80th birthday party. Admittedly DS was his last rather than his first grandchild but all grandparent in our family became grandparents in their 60s, that was true for my grandparents as well. Clearly old parents beget old parents!

Damntheman · 16/05/2019 13:13

My dad was 85 when I had my daughter :) 82 when I had my son. My brother got started before me! My mum was 71 when my daughter was born and 68 when my son was born.

GhostsToMonsoon · 16/05/2019 13:16

60 and 62.

Hushabyelullaby · 16/05/2019 13:20

51 and 52

Warmhandscoldheart · 16/05/2019 13:32

Mine were 42 + 46 when their 1st GC was born.

9th GC and 1st GGC were born within weeks of each other when they were 63 + 67yo.

IntoValhalla · 16/05/2019 13:37

Dsis had Dnephew, their first grandchild at 21, so my parents were 47 & 48 when they became grandparents.
DH and I have since added 2 more to the brood.

KnifeAngel · 16/05/2019 13:41

55 and 57. My husband brother became a great great granddad at 60.

GiantKitten · 16/05/2019 13:41

My dad was 53, my mum had died aged 50 a year before. That was my brother’s first child. He became a grandfather at 56.

My dad was 61 when my first was born. I’m 68 and still waiting Grin

KnifeAngel · 16/05/2019 13:42

Oops great granddad not great great Blush.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 16/05/2019 13:43

ittooshallpass · 16/05/2019 15:01

68 + died 4 years before baby born.

ICouldBeSomebodyYouKnow · 16/05/2019 18:21

DF was 79. DM was 69 - she died 9 months later. Sad

My own PGF died aged 90, before DF got married. He would have been 95 if he had lived to see DBro being born!!

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 16/05/2019 18:27
