How many houseplants do you have?

I have none at all, unless you include a sad looking basil plant on my kitchen window sill.

I do love plants but our bastarding dog has eaten/destroyed every one over the years and I worry that if I get more he'll do the same or even poison himself with one.

So tell me about your lovely plants.

Zero, they wouldn’t stand a chance, I can barely feed the kids!

hidinginthenightgarden · 12/05/2019 19:45

None! Can't keep anything alive. Killed the raspberry plants in the front garden - struggling to keep the bloody fish alive...

DramaAlpaca · 12/05/2019 19:46

We have a conservatory with a few cacti that DH grew from seed & which appear to be indestructible as they are totally neglected. I don't have time to look after houseplants as well as house, family & animals, which is a shame as I like them.

Nanalisa60 · 12/05/2019 19:47

None I have the kiss of death for any plant that has every crossed my door!!

Hiddenaspie1973 · 12/05/2019 19:49

4 orchids. The oldest is 14 months.

Otterses · 12/05/2019 19:50

DS likes to eat soil and leaves, so I make do with my Ikea plastic ones Grin I'd love to have house plants.

Reddedder · 12/05/2019 19:51

12

notacooldad · 12/05/2019 19:52

None.

Chilledout11 · 12/05/2019 19:53

I have four. I love them

Wouldyouorshouldyou · 12/05/2019 19:53

Had none, now have two and they are still alive. Amazingly

EllieMoon · 12/05/2019 19:53

3 small cactus which I adore as they literally don't die Grin
A big snake plant which I've had a couple of years and it's getting pretty big now, again I can neglect it for ages and it's still going strong.
Umbrella plant which is surprisingly hardy
Small palm
Large palm - few leaves browning at the ends Blush
2x spider plants I took as baby cuttings for the kids rooms
A flowering plant for Mother's Day I've beheaded and it flowered again! What magic is that?!

Love plants, but I'm not green fingered at all so it's a miracle they're looking that good. I just had to run down and check none of them were faux plants!

ooooohbetty · 12/05/2019 19:54

Four atm. I'm really good at making them grow. I like buying sad dying ones from supermarkets and bringing them back to life.

RainbowMum11 · 12/05/2019 19:54

None because I kill them within minutes of them entering the house!!

FiremanKing · 12/05/2019 19:55

None. They entice insects.

mizu · 12/05/2019 19:56

Two.

One a gift from a class last year and the other a gift from my department a few months previous - both look like they are on their last legs Saddespite them both apparently being easy to look after.

Seriously, one of them is half the size it was when it was given to me. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Floralnomad · 12/05/2019 19:57

None . Nothing survives in here .

SinglePringle · 12/05/2019 19:57

9 at the moment. I’ve got plans for a few more though

NeutralJanet · 12/05/2019 19:58

Two, they were both given to me as gifts and one looks almost dead. I am most definitely not a green fingered person.

SwedishEdith · 12/05/2019 19:58

Loads, I love them. Spider plants and Swiss Cheese plants are pretty indestructible. And you can split/chop them and make more.

Gatekeeper · 12/05/2019 19:58

20...wouldn't be without them

IceniSky · 12/05/2019 20:00

45ish! Some are really old and passed down. Have them everywhere.

greenelephantscarf · 12/05/2019 20:01

about 20
some orchids, yucca, sansiveria, pineapple, tangerine...
I love plants

User11011 · 12/05/2019 20:01

4 if you include my 2 cacti

Nicasia · 12/05/2019 20:06

18 in all, most of which have been/are lovingly chewed by our cat

4 Sansevierias (2 of which are pups)
3 peace lilies
3 Calatheas
2 orchids
2 Echeverias
1 Haworthia
1 Kentia palm
1 spider plant
1 pot of cat grass

Catchingbentcoppers · 12/05/2019 20:07

Any suggestions for very hardy non poisonous to dogs plants?
