Most boring film you've ever seen?

I'm watching On Chesil Beach and I can't remember the last time I watched a film this dull. Only sticking with it to see how they do the, ahem, early arrival part. Thinking about it the book was fairly shite too.

What's the most boring film you've ever seen so I can avoid nights like this Grin

Titanic
Gone With The Wind, I know its a classic film but I just can't see the appeal
Solaris, I wanted to like this but just found it dull
Mothman Prophecies
Naked Lunch/Blue Velvet

Natural Born Killers. Utter shite, I was bored enough to leave.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 06/05/2019 20:15

Ahh see I loved Lost In Translation. I watched it when I couldn’t sleep in the wee small hours of the night. I was snug in bed, it was lashing it down raining outside and it just felt very comforting. I can see how it’s not everyone’s cup of tea though.

The Revenant was just godawful misery. Just when you think things are getting marginally better they pour on more godawful misery.

I left the cinema after watching it and stood having a cigarette googling pictures of cute animals just to remind myself that there was joy left in the world.

The one about kurt cobain’s last few days. A friend and I always tried to get £5 tickets for the Electric Cinema in Notting Hill, back in the day. It had sofas and stuff and we thought it the height of sophistication. Finally got tickets, for this film, then realised why tickets were available! I fell asleep for an hour or so, my friend woke me up as she was getting so bored and pissed off, so we left.

I remember watching Crash, awful!

Hushnownobodycares · 06/05/2019 20:42

Les Miserables. I know the clue's in the name but fuck me Debbie Downer doesn't even begin to go there. The best bit is the end where they're celebrating some sort of victory. Bit pyrrhic though, given they're all dead...

BaronessBomburst · 06/05/2019 20:49

@M15sterPip Yes! That was it!
See, they're all just a blur. Confused

lifetothefull · 06/05/2019 20:49

Agree with early poster about The Matrix. I was trying to look around the cinema for something more interesting to look at. eg counting number of bricks in the wall.

Orchidoptic · 06/05/2019 21:39

I think I’ve remembered the name of the film- Truman Capote. I thought it was about Al Capone, but as it was it was a boring film that I snored through.

CassandraCross · 06/05/2019 21:47

Was Crash the one with several interconnecting stories centred around racism? Sandra Bullock and Ryan Phillipe were in it?

Xenadog · 06/05/2019 21:49

2001 a space odyssey. Awful. I have no idea what it is about or how Kubrick thought this could be a film to entertain.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/05/2019 21:51

My own private Idaho

SomethingOnce · 06/05/2019 21:55

Dances with please let it end Wolves!

babypossum · 06/05/2019 21:56

The Shallows - very dull.

lauryloo · 06/05/2019 21:59

Gosford park... didn't make it to the end

aintnothinbutagstring · 06/05/2019 22:01

I'm another in the minority that loves the English Patient, it's gorgeous to watch, one of my favourites.

RaptorWhiskers · 06/05/2019 22:02

Cloud Atlas. I literally fell asleep. Perhaps it wasn’t that bad though, as others have named some of my favourite films so it’s obviously very subjective!

SomethingOnce · 06/05/2019 22:02

And that one with Keyser Söze. Couldn’t tell you what all that was about. Boring AF.

Whisky2014 · 06/05/2019 22:02

Room

Forthepurposesofthetape · 06/05/2019 22:04

Lincoln - the only time I've ever a actually left a cinema. Have just left dh watching Stan and Ollie, I kept falling asleep so have come to bed. It was so tedious!

Slightly gutted people don't like Lost In Translation, I love that one. It's a funny unconventional love story and totally captures how it feels being in a completely different culture to your own and needing someone to connect with.

WoollyMummoth · 06/05/2019 22:06

Sorry The English Patient was dire, I could have cried with boredom.
The Lobster-total shite, Dh loved it, the freak.
A Wrinkle in Time- waste of time.

Mumtoone39 · 06/05/2019 22:08

Miami vice- Colin Farrell, ( I dislike quite a few Colin Farrell films)
Funny people?? ( I think it’s called - Adam candler
