Did any one used to watch Gladiators?

I used to love watching this on a Saturday night with my sisters and brother, we often missed the end because dinner was ready (always lasagne on a Saturday my favourite).

Wolf and Saracen were my favourites I always found Shadows eyes really scary!

We always wanted a go at it especially suspension bridge, skytrack and the eliminator.

I've just managed to find it on the telly and me and my 7 year old DD are watching it, she loves it too Smile

Someone mentioned the krypton factor up thread- bloody loved that too! Was always a dream to go on that!! Watching gladiators was always a family affair. Hoped we'd get the same out of that ninja show but juts isn't quite the same sadly. Ooh! Ooh!!!! THE CRYSTAL MAZE!!! Another family viewing and shouting at the telly feast.

I am at my happiest watching Gladiators, watched it all on Challenge channel last year. Didn't know it was back on!

Seem to remember everyone fancied Hunter and Lightning in my school. Jet went a bit un-noticed. Still find it awesome that Saracen was a firefighter, DH saw him in panto!

I really remember Eunice she was ace. I vaguely remember that Hunter and Ulrika did have a fling.

It's all the old ones I'm watching happy I don't think it's on these days though I think they brought it back for a bit. Wouldn't be the same now without the original gladiators.

Hunter and Ulrika didn't just have a fling, they had a torrid, tabloidy, marriage ending (hers) affair that lasted quite a while. They did several TMI interviews in the papers.

Hunter had gone out with Jet for a while first.

I went to see Gladiators being filmed once, although I was quite far back, so actually I had a better view on the telly!

I showed it to my DC and they love it too.

Jet is lovely. But my favourite was Wolf. Big hunk of man meat!

My sister and used to shout CONTENDER READY in a Scottish accent at the TV.

I've just watched one where they played hang tough and Wolf managed to pull the contenders shorts down and he was just in his pants. You could see Wolf and the contender laughing about it. Then John Anderson told Wolf off for ungentemenally conduct and Wolf said 'what's the problem he had pants on'! Love Wolf Grin

One of the great regrets of my life is that I never got to do Gladiators...

My parents disapproved of the programme, but realised how quiet it kept us went with it. I remember we got to eat Saturday dinner (usually burgers) on the floor in front of it - felt like the ultimate in decadence!

This could be outing. My ex was involved with the show. I went to watch it numerous times and went to the after party. It was great fun

@Lazymare that was our student Saturday night ritual, although we didn't bother with Casualty. I'd love them to run that stuff again, it would be much than the never ending Simon Cowell talent contests for the untalented.

I used to work at the NEC group and it was filmed at one of their venues (the NIA). I saw one episode being filmed. It took ages. Around 2.5 hours for one half hour episode.

The original Gladiators was one of my favourite programmes. Many years ago Hunter was sitting at the next table in a restaurant in York. I was ridiculously star struck!

I know one of the Gladiators from the later 2008 series. She is unbelievably fit!

Just looking at the where are they now, am I the only one shocked Sharon Davies was a gladiator? I had no idea she was Amazon! Sad to see shadow had issues with drugs and prison
