I never really understood why Damon got so much flak for his accent.

If you've ever been to Leytonstone or Colchester and speak to LMC people who've grown up there, unsurprisingly, most sound like they're from East London/Essex. Weirdly enough. So, growing up in those areas and circs what accent was he supposed to have? Glaswegian?! Grin

I think he was just unlucky to have made it in the pre David Beckham/ Towie era before Guardian writers wised up to the Bow Bells thing being a crock of shit.

Anyway, never liked Blur. Prefer Gorillaz.

RuffleCrow same here, I'm also from that part of the world, born near Leytonstone, family still there, grew up near Colchester. Lots of familiar references on Everyday Robots album. So his voice does sound really familiar and comforting in a way.
