As Parklife turns 25 [old duffer emoticon] this year!

Mine are:

Out of Time
On Your Own
All Your Life
Chemical World
For Tomorrow
To The End
Coffee and TV

Probably loads more I can't think of right now

I love that French version A la fin.

NigellasGuest · 03/05/2019 20:28

I've had the hots for Damon since I dont know when Blush

ForalltheSaints · 03/05/2019 20:30

Parklife.

I also like the song he did with Mura Masa- Blu.

RuffleCrow · 03/05/2019 20:33

True Kalifornia but then Damon is more the intense, earnest type.

Love Liam's non-sequiturs. As the years have passed i've realised i love both bands in different ways and for different reasons.

Didn't Laetitia Sadier make supportive noises about Jordan Peterson last year? Maybe To The End is slightly soiled for me now too. And as for Alex James....well.

froomeonthebroom · 03/05/2019 20:34

Jubilee on Parklife, and For Tomorrow

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 03/05/2019 20:38

Tender
Song 2
She’s so high

I must say, I went off them after going to one of their gigs in the noughties, it was gruesomely laddy and I was an age to not find that any fun at all, and I wasn’t really expecting that. It wasn’t Oasis!

Alconleigh · 03/05/2019 20:49

This is a Low.
Breaks my heart a little every time.

hugoagogo · 03/05/2019 20:49

National treasure you say?
Hah I remember this as well as any teenager squashed down the front can, bless their passed up hearts. Grin

hugoagogo · 03/05/2019 20:50

Pissed!

Hobbes8 · 03/05/2019 20:52

Song 2, For Tomorrow and the one that plays at the end of Trainspotting.

I got into a weird argument with a friend of my then-boyfriend about ten years ago about the whole blur vs oasis thing. I’d always assumed that was a made up media thing, as all my indie kid friends liked both bands. But he asked me which one I preferred and I said something bland like “I loved oasis at the time but I think Blur’s stuff has aged better” and he was furious! And this conversation was in about 2008/9. I was baffled.

Nononononono33 · 03/05/2019 20:54

Girls and Boys is my favourite song of all time. Topman is also a favourite (from the Great Escape album) , as is Tender. Absolutely love Blur!!

hugoagogo · 03/05/2019 21:12

Oh, No Distance Left to Run- the pain, that whole album, really. Sad

Daisywho · 03/05/2019 21:16

End of a Century, Chemical World, Jubilee, Charmless Man, Bad Head... so many! I really liked Under the Westway too, it reminds me of seeing them in Hyde Park in 2012 as the Olympics drew to a close - it was such a brilliant atmosphere.

TemporaryPermanent · 03/05/2019 21:19

beetlebum.

NigellasGuest · 03/05/2019 21:20

I was there too Hude Park 2012, with my DD

Vinorosso74 · 03/05/2019 21:21

Ah 2012 before the UK went to shit....

gauffres · 03/05/2019 21:22

Blur super fan here. Also so so proud of Damon and his achievements. Favourites change all the time but my consistent ones are:

Trimm Trabb
Sing
This is a Low
Chemical World
No Distance Left to Run
Death of a Party
Battery in your Leg

ChristinaMarlowe · 03/05/2019 21:24

End of a century. Something about the way he says "Ants in the carpet" makes me irrationally happy.

Laodamia · 03/05/2019 21:26

I said something bland like “I loved oasis at the time but I think Blur’s stuff has aged better” and he was furious!

How sweet that he was still fighting that ferocious fight over a decade after the parties involved had long given up on it! Grin

I look back at how absolutely massive Oasis were and can't quite believe it. I don't think their music has aged well, just derivative nonsense. And I will forever hold a grudge against them for unleashing the horror that is Wonderwall upon the world.

gauffres · 03/05/2019 21:29

Christina my kids love that line too. My usual username is taken from from End of a Century lyrics, really should've changed it back for the purpose of this thread!

Reasonstobeearful · 03/05/2019 21:30

I only like two oasis songs now. Let there be love and what's the story morning glory. Blur have definitely more that I still listen to. I liked them both at the time though. Blur faves are song 2 and tender.

hugoagogo · 03/05/2019 21:30

Dirty little monsters Grin

Reasonstobeearful · 03/05/2019 21:32

Also agree with a pp that pulp were the best. Although they weren't really nineties and they weren't really britpop either which is probably why.

IdblowJonSnow · 03/05/2019 21:38

All of them. I absolutely love Blur and always have. They've released such a variety of tracks, not even over the years, but within each and every album.
Blur vs Oasis?! No contest! Oasis' songs all sound the same (she says sounding old) and Liam Gallagher is a muppet.
