Zero empathy or sympathy

OP posts:
HerRoyalFattyness · 28/04/2019 23:30

Mine would say "well i can't help you can i?"

CountFosco · 28/04/2019 23:31

Mine would buy me chocolate and let me spend the afternoon in bed. He's a keeper.

Lardlizard · 28/04/2019 23:32

He could at least rub my lower back

AC12vsOCG · 28/04/2019 23:32

Mind would offer sympathy and ask if chocolate would help (safe bet, chocolate always helps). Tell your DH to buck his ideas up!

TheFlis12345 · 28/04/2019 23:32

He would give me a cuddle, ask what he could do to help and offer to go out and buy anything that might make me feel better. I feel sad for the previous posters!

Ploppymoodypants · 28/04/2019 23:33

Yep mine would say
‘Hmmmm’ or ‘oh right’. No sympathy. If I did just take to bed though, he would pick up the slack with no complaints. He just doesn’t do tea and sympathy.

NoClueWithStyle · 28/04/2019 23:33

Probably "wtf do you want me to do about it?"

And if I answered, "the childcare, the laundry, the dinner, packed lunches, the tidying and cleaning needed at the end of the day", I wouldn't get any more than "fuck off" in reply.

This lack of empathy and support is one of the many reasons we are no longer together.

MollyYouInDangerGirl · 28/04/2019 23:33

I'd probably get a bit of sympathy and a brew and hot water bottle offered as I dont usually suffer from painful periods so dont usually mention it.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 28/04/2019 23:34

Mine would offer sympathy, painkillers and a back or tummy rub. He's a star.

AnyoneButAnton · 28/04/2019 23:34

Mine would say “aw there there” and send me off to bed while he did the immediate chores, or at least get me a cup of tea/glass of wine.

Titsywoo · 28/04/2019 23:35

He'd probably say "Poor baby, what do you need?"

shushymcshush · 28/04/2019 23:35

shall I run you a bath and make you a brew?

Raggerty54 · 28/04/2019 23:35

“Oh really?”- Not looking up from his phone

IsAStormApporaching · 28/04/2019 23:35

Mine would say "how come?" Hmm

His response to most things dysect the information until he can understand it-as he say . But it bugs the hell out of me 😂😂

SpoonBlender · 28/04/2019 23:36

Ibuprofen and tea and chocolate and hot water bottle and dressing gown and slippers and cuddles.

Constance1234 · 28/04/2019 23:36

Mine would suggest I went and had a long bath, and he would sort dinner, bedtime etc out.

PleaseJustSayNo · 28/04/2019 23:37

Ibuprofen and a wheat bag?

ImNotHappyaboutitPauline · 28/04/2019 23:37

DH would check I had painkillers and remind me to drink plenty of water (mine is bad anyway but a hundred times worse if I'm dehydrated). Not a whole lot else he can do really.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 28/04/2019 23:38

Do you need any painkillers, hot water bottle.

Aimily · 28/04/2019 23:38

He went out and got me Dr Pepper and neurofen, but I was crying because it was a super painful one, he has been known to run a bath once or twice over the years.
Other than that I don't get too much sympathy month by month.

Lardlizard · 28/04/2019 23:39

Just collected him and his excuse for being so lame was he was looking at work emails
Which he was

OP posts:
Xerdna · 28/04/2019 23:39

His standard response is ‘well, it’s your fault for eating the apple’ Hmm

Camomila · 28/04/2019 23:40

He'd probably say do you want some ibuprofen?

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 28/04/2019 23:41

“Oh.”
