Not to go to university, I mean, when you no longer had a bedroom or regularly stayed with your parents?

I was 18.

Meercat2 · 28/04/2019 14:27

18 and moved to a different country too. I'm still here 30 years later 😀

Fatted · 28/04/2019 14:27

24 when I properly moved out.

I went to uni at 18 and then met my now DH at 21, so for the last few years I was actually living between my parents house and his parents.

BasilWhoosh · 28/04/2019 14:28

Eighteen.

NotSoThinLizzy · 28/04/2019 14:29

16 moved out because I was too scared to tell my mum I was pregnant 😂 seems silly now 10 year later

Beachbodynowayready · 28/04/2019 14:30

A week after turning 17.
After dm turned up in hospital ranting at me after I mc. She was escorted off the ward and our relationship never recovered.. Been nc since I was 30.

nrpmum · 28/04/2019 14:31

18, my parents moved house just before I was due to go to uni - the new house didn't have a room for me so I camped in parents house before uni started, I went to the US to work for the summer holidays, then went to uni and then never came back except for the odd 2 day visits. Even over that first year Christmas break I came home for the weekend of Christmas itself then went back to my flat. After that I went to my boyfriends parents for the holidays or stayed in my flat / house.
DH finds this weird as the spare room we sleep in at his parents is still referred to as his room by his parents although it's been redecorated a bit more tastefully in the past 20odd years as a guest room / office.

Heymummee · 28/04/2019 14:38

18, I am 32 now. I’ve never moved back home. I still go and stay, but had no bedroom at home since I left.

DrDreReturns · 28/04/2019 14:39

21, after university.

18, though it was to go to university — but our household was terribly overcrowded, with elderly relatives living in our tiny house as well as my parents and six younger siblings, so there wasn’t a bedroom or even a bed for me if I came back briefly in the vac. I’d definitely left.

jackstini · 28/04/2019 14:55

21, when bought first house

23 (went home for a year after uni) into a house share and then moved in with now DH.

In practise though I live 10mins drive away from my parents and my old room has still got a drawer with mine and DS stuff. Its just decorated more nicely and has a double bed. Probably end up sleeping over once every few weeks ...usually because DS has fallen asleep after dinner.

(Typical Italian family. DBro also invites himself round for dinner often even though he's got a nice flat)

BastianBux · 28/04/2019 14:56
  1. Then went back home for a bit and left again at 17.
BiBiBirdie · 28/04/2019 14:56

16
Couldn't wait to leave, despite making myself practically homeless for 18 months and having to give up college/uni aspirations as a result.
