Just watching This Morning and Max Beesley is on there. Oh my, did I used to fancy him but blimey AFAIC he has not aged well. He just looks like some boring middle aged NDN now.

Daniel Day Lewis. Gorgeous then, gorgeous now

Jeff Goldblum. Handsome then and now.

Katie Price. Was so attractive when she started out. Not now

Russell Crowe. He had something about him Now just a jowly middle aged man.

Emma Thompson. Had no work done and looks far better now than she used to

My DH. I think he's more handsome than he used to be, he's grown into his grey hair and wrinkles, whereas I just look like a grey haired old woman Grin

I find it bizarre how many options there are on here. Any type of aging is a privilege not afforded to everyone and is better than the alternative. Some people develop wrinkles & flab. Get over it. Are they kind to others? Do they lead fulfilling lives?

TalkinPaece · 27/04/2019 21:43

My point is that "natural ageing" as touted in the press and meejah is nothing of the sort
and therefore we should all set sensible goals
hence why I mention folks like Jo Wiley and Toni Arthur
who live lives any of us could manage

Roussette · 27/04/2019 21:44

I use a moisturiser from Spain called 'Effecto Botox'

I was going to mention Simon Cowell too sink girl
He had a pleasant enough face that could’ve aged well...but he looks a bit unsavoury now
Most weird
On the other hand Matthew Wright was aging well while on tv...and pre baby

Don’t know what he’s like now lol

cricketmum84 · 27/04/2019 21:44

I saw Shirley Ballas on a documentary the other day, she was climbing Kilimanjaro. She did a piece to the camera with no make up on and she looked amazing!

Roussette · 27/04/2019 21:45

I agree 1way
The alternative is not so good.
And I like to think I give back so I get your point

I’ve almost always had a fringe so my forehead is pretty good..but yes rousette, the eyes, if I don’t sleep well 😱

yellowpolkadots101 l do! l've only ever gone to bed once in my life with makeup on, that was the night l broke my ankle and was in hospital waiting to go to theatre. l couldn't wait for my husband to bring my cleanser in the next day! Even when l was young and daft and came home drunk, the next morning my face was always clean - l'd taken my make up off, without even thinking about it.
l've always used 'something' - expensive and cheap. Varying from baby lotion to Clarins, Elizabeth Arden, etc. l had bad cystic acne when l was in my teens, and l'm very lucky now that my skin is so good. l started using an eye cream when l was in my mid 20s, and l still do, morning and night.
l used to use Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, but now l use all Superdrug's own brands. They do a very good wash off cream similar to C & P, and it's a fraction of the price. l use their Micellar Water as well. Day cream with an SPF, night cream, and occasionally rose hip oil at night. None of it's expensive these days, but l think so long as you clean your face and moisturise, the routine's as important as the products. l used to use facial scrubs a lot, but l've cut right back on that as my skin's sensitive now and l'm getting broken veins.

Dowser · 27/04/2019 21:49

Oh and I’m a bit older than you

JaneJeffer · 27/04/2019 21:49

Just watching Norwich win and Delia Smith looks great. She's almost 78 now. Coincidentally I made one of her recipes for dinner this evening Grin

Whizzler · 27/04/2019 21:49

I think Julianne Moore looks far more striking in her 50s than she did in her 30s. And if she's had any work done it's been minimal.

Rousette Yes!! And a light eye cream. l'm lucky to have my dad's genes. He never looked his age, and l'm told l don't either. l'm obviously no spring chicken but wrinkle wise, l'm doing ok, l think.

Whizzler · 27/04/2019 21:52

Susanna Hoffs from the Bangles is 60

Shock

How can this be!?

Dowser · 27/04/2019 21:53

My friend only used Nivea...even to sunbathe
Sadly she passed away at 72 but still had beautiful skin

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 21:53

😳

Honestly I can’t blame actresses for doing it given the ridiculousness of the pressures they’re under but it scares me that people see stuff like this and think they haven’t had a ton of work done. Coupled with the fact that couples in films are always portrayed as similarly aged despite the fact that the women are a good 10-15 years younger than the man and we are all going around with horribly unrealistic ideas of what ageing is.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go and look more closely of those photos of Jared Leto in a wet t shirt... Grin

ourkidmolly · 27/04/2019 21:53

Nick Knowles is 56. He looks 76 to me. Clearly too much time outside. So lined. Think losing too much weight after 50 just collapses your face.

evilharpy · 27/04/2019 21:54

My mum is 79 and has no forehead 11s whatsoever, even when frowning she barely has any. I'm nearly 39 and I have them (although I've started having a bit of help coughcough for them). Not everyone gets them.

TalkinPaece · 27/04/2019 21:54

whizzler
Julianne - another botox binger ... the absolute lack of wrinkles is the give away
DD has no brow wrinkles
30 year olds start to have them
by 50 we all do (at BMI under 22 ... which is 99% of slebs)
And I do find it sad that a natural feature of ageing is so unacceptable in the meejah

Roussette · 27/04/2019 21:57

But isn't it all about being comfortable in yourself? I think it is. I know my good points and I know my bad points and that knowledge comes with age.

I just slap on the moisturiser, eye cream etc and hope for the best. I have dry/combination skin and just slap it on.

I always think of Joan Collins, apparently she still uses Ponds Cold Cream (probably not true) but she used to say that's all she used.

cricketmum Shirley Ballas is botoxed up to her eyeballs. If you think she looks good then it’s a great advert for Botox...

Whizzler · 27/04/2019 21:58

I saw Julianne Moore being interviewed recently and her face was fully mobile, forehead included. She's never gone down the Nicole Kidman frozen face look. I think being very fair skinned she's just been very generous with the sunscreen over the years.

Dowser · 27/04/2019 21:59

Roger Moore always looked fabulous as he aged
Honour Blackman such a classy lady

Delatron · 27/04/2019 22:00

I too think it’s perplexing all these actresses quoted as being ‘au natural’ when they clearly aren’t. It’s just very good work. We got used to seeing bad work 10 years ago. Doctors have got better.

katseyes7 · 27/04/2019 22:00

Dowser l'm sure years ago Joanna Lumley said she's only ever used Astral, which is very similar to Nivea. She still looks amazing!

katseyes7 · 27/04/2019 22:01

Honor Blackman, yes! Amazing.
