My neighbour is doing her ironing in the garden

Why has it never occurred to me?

I always do if its not raining. I get so bloody hot and sweaty doing it indoors.

Ironing? Nope never heard of it.

It never occurred to me before reading this....

But it is genius.

In the middle of your lawn?! It has never occurred to me but now I’m thinking why not?!

If it needs to be done and the weather's nice, then why not? Beats being stuck indoors with it

DH always does this if the sun is shining.

You’d be having a much nicer time in the sun if you were just sat on your arse and didn’t bother ironing.

DH had the wherewithal when we we planning this house to install proper outside power-so we’ve got 4 power sockets dotted about outside including the very bottom of garden.
I don’t iron, but if I did I could have some very pretty views!

Actually, if the clothes have just dried off of the washing line, it’s quite a genius idea.

I did this years ago for a woman I worked for. Spent the afternoon doing her ironing in her garden and started sneezing. And sneezing. And sneezing. Had never had hay fever so didn’t connect it. Continued ironing.

Was lovely otherwise!

My friend has been doing this for years and has a deep tan partially due to doing everything she can outside.
But I've never asked the specifics and so didn't realise the implications of not having to traipse in and out with baskets full of washing off the line then setting up the ironing board with somewhere to put the ironed clothes. Washing straight off the line cuts out a whole stage.

My mum used to - any bit of sun and she'd be out in the garden, taking any chores with her!

My grandparents used to carry the telly out onto the patio when it was really good weather. It had a special umbrella thing, the extension cable and portable aerial that required a grandchild to hold in a certain position.

Ironing?!? What's that?

Well, when I've ironed and the weather's good, I've always done it outside, bit its not great in bright sunshine for your eyes, like trying to read with the sun on your page.

I do everything possible in the garden when it's sunny. I even peel vegetables outside.

Always done it so nice especially on a hot day washing straight of the line ironed and put away

Never tried ironing but we’re at top of a hill near a river estuary so usually pretty windy.

I did polish all the brass and silver out in the garden yesterday....looked lovely all glinting in the sun!

I've done that in the past but it does entail finding the extension lead and key for the patio doors first. Nowadays I don't iron so much...

My cousin does this. She likes to get a tan...
