Why has it never occurred to me?

I used to work with someone who ironed outside in summer listening to music with a glass of lager to hand which I thought was very organised.

@BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou you could just pop the ironing board on a picnic rug or old blanket or towel

Outdoor socket? Extension lead? My neighbour has a socket in her shed and she plugs into that. My outdoor socket is at the shade end of the garden so I will gave to use an extension lead.

This is in trending, all I could see was "My neighbour is doing her ironing in the..." I was so sure it was going to say nude!! I was just wondering if this was by the OP who had the naturist neighbours out mowing their lawn.

Yeah, ext lead, drinks and snax on hand, music, and in bikini of course!

Yes, ive done it lots. Outdoor sockets or an extension lead.

I hate ironing but if its got to be done then anything to make it more bareable!

In my previous house I had a outside socket put on the garage solely so I could iron outside in the sunny patch. Here I have to put the extension cable through the kitchen window. It was ideal when the kids were little as I could watch them playing in the garden.

Was it school uniform?

Hands up if you can't remember where, or even if, your iron exists?

Our next door neighbour used to do it and I'd forgotten about it until now. Her kids would be playing outside on a sunny day and she'd set herself up and iron while she watched them.

When I lived in Spain, if I had to iron it would almost always be done outside, often under the cover terrace for a bit of shade. Unfortunately, now I rarely find it warm enough in Wiltshire to bother
