Can be anything

Oh yes, the boys that bounce their football off your head chair, whilst their parents sit there ignoring it, chatting about their garage of supercars, or how their extension is such a nightmare because of the listed status? Hmm
Or because they're drilling their four year old in calculus, in preparation for 7+...

Sheogorath · 21/04/2019 16:52

Ignoring the obvious trolling since then, do some employers really dictate what their employees wear outside of work?

Whoops75 · 21/04/2019 17:01

If males are taught not to be assholes then females can wear whatever they want!

I say that as a mother of boys & girls.

Clothes say NOTHING about a persons character only their personal taste.

Mine can wear what they like, if you don’t approve please keep it to yourself 😎

MyGastIsFlabbered · 21/04/2019 20:07

I still don't understand what a fish finger hat is

Al2O3 · 21/04/2019 21:47

MyGast I believe you are thinking too deeply.

SleepingStandingUp · 21/04/2019 22:24

MyGast it was a joke. what wouldn't you let them wear? poster thinks of something ridiculous and made up. others get on board

CitadelsofScience · 22/04/2019 10:09

MyGastIsFlabbered · 22/04/2019 11:02

I hate jeans on babies, they look so restrictive and uncomfortable. I also think dresses and headbands are pointless on baby girls.

Not a fan of most slogan T-shirt’s but it depends what the slogan is. Hate character clothing.

BruceTheMoose · 22/04/2019 14:22

MyGastIsFlabbered you've made my day Grin

FishCanFly · 22/04/2019 14:31

Something totally weather or activity inappropriate comes to mind.
Maybe offensive/stupid slogans

longwayoff · 22/04/2019 17:49

Matching sets of clothes like Fergie used to do with her girls. Acceptable on twins I guess. Even worse if mum and/or dad joins in.

longestlurkerever · 22/04/2019 22:53

Can I ask what the issue is with character clothing? It’s not the most stylish but it makes my kids so happy, I can’t imagine refusing to let them wear it.

SarfE4sticated · 22/04/2019 23:10

Beats me @longestlurkerever! I think it's nice when little kids wear clothes they love. My DD had a Snoopy dress which she loved to death, and Charlie and Lola pants which helped her potty training so much!

longestlurkerever · 22/04/2019 23:12

Mine would adore Charlie and Lola pants!

puppylovebaby · 22/04/2019 23:29

My kids are 11 and 13. I don't like then wearing -

Football top
Football shorts
Cropped tops
Anything made of fishnet
High heeled shoes
Huge hoop earrings

NerrSnerr · 22/04/2019 23:43

My 2 year old's Thomas the tank engine t shirt is his favourite thing ever. When he's wearing it he points at it and says 'choo choo' to whoever he sees that day.

ginghambox · 23/04/2019 00:03

A Liverpool shirt.

Purpletigers · 23/04/2019 01:48

Football kits .

Goldenbear · 23/04/2019 10:48

Yes, same here, my DD loves Snoopy- we went to see the 'Good Grief, Charlie Brown!' exhibition at Somerset House and she asked for a sweater as a souvenir, it looks really lovely on her. She also has a top from Zara with the Snoopy image on!

longwayoff · 23/04/2019 11:03

Re cheap and ' chavvy' clothes, I live in a town housing one of the top 5 public schools, fees oodles of £s a year. See the boys out in their everyday uniform, they're all in polyester blazers, trousers, shirts, look like they were all dressed by primark or asda. So, clothing not necessarily an indicator of wealth/class. Wear what you like.

Notwiththeseknees · 23/04/2019 11:08

Grey tracksuit bottoms. Look like remand prisoners. Every.Time.

ConstanzaAndSalieri · 23/04/2019 11:09

Whilst they’re young enough not to understand, slogan t shirts which make a judgement about their character/preferences. So things which have been given to us and have swiftly exited include “Daddy’s little soldier”, “I love grandma, she gives me chocolate”, “I love football” (six months old, we’re not at all a football family) “I’m a princess”.

Recently received one through the post, directly from the company but I guess it’s a present from someone: “I’m not listening”. He’s 3. I have no idea who it is from and haven’t put it on fb to ask as it’s hideous. That particular child is my listening one! It’s not even funny?!?!

Whathappenedtothelego · 23/04/2019 11:31

I don't like sleeveless clothes because of sun protection. Don't like bikinis for the same reason.

Other than that, I don't really mind, though I would steer dc away from what I would categorise as "adult clubbing wear".

And yesterday I saw a teen in black leggings so see-through you could see her (pink, lacy) thong through them; I definitely wouldn't allow that.

DH doesn't like cropped tops/displaying midriff in public.
