Returning from holiday to my own shower and hairdryer tops my list.

Driving along the a259 between Brighton and Eastbourne. So many nice views just make me think wow every time even though I’ve been along it so many times. The sea, the cliffs, the river. Just all cool stuff culminating in an incredible view over the whole of Eastbourne.

A bit niche to my part of the world but I love it!

Oh, and the sublime joy of switching off your computer before leaving for holiday. I'm flying back to the UK on Thursday evening and I can barely think about it because I'm so excited.

For me:

Good tea. Hot, brewed in a pot.
Belly laughs with the kids.
Lying in bed with DH listening to the kids play and chat nicely (sometimes!)
The coast. The sound. The smell. The clear freshness of it all.
Sunrises and sunsets
Watching nature especially the friendly robins in our garden.
A really hot bubble bath. With my kindle and an ice filled G&T. Perfect relaxation.
The smell of fresh, sun warmed washing. And when you've opened all the windows, and cleaned the house and it smells just lovely.

Just 'being', having nowhere to go, sun shining, pets mooching, birds singing. No'one else around. Always brings a smile to my face

MissMarple - you're right! Bit of a Luddite TRYING to wise-up... just got a smart tvnever 'done' a podcast... i don't think.. unless listening to 'old' stuff sometime IS a podcast??) Will get my act together

My kids crawling into our bed for cuddles in the morning until it descends into wrestling and I have to throw them out

The pure joy of a g&t and my choice of terrible telly once the kids have gone to sleep and dh is working nights!

Passing someone in the street who is wearing a fragrance and it taking you back 20 yrs or so. Recently passed a man wearing Joop and all the boys used to wear it when I’d just left home.

A lovely pot of coffee.

We live near a primary school and the sound of children playing at break time is such a joy. Just complete happiness.

Babies feet

The smell of line dried laundry.

-Sniffing my 3 month olds hair when he's asleep on me
-Fresh washing
-puppy breath 😍

Wind and rain at 6am when you don't need to get up until 7.
Waking up on a campsite at sunrise.
The smell of wild garlic in Spring.
Jersey Royal potatoes with butter.
A good old fart after suffering with trapped wind.

I love the sound of the rain at night. Even better if there’s a thunderstorm.
First coffee of the morning looking out into the garden and watching the birds at the feeder
Lying in the garden with the kids on a sunny day and looking at the fluffy clouds and seeing what they remind us of
Sitting outside late on a warm evening and looking at the stars

Nothing so underrated as a good fart eh?!!

A nice cup of coffee.
Being caught up in a good book.
Having an empty washing basket.

That feeling of going somewhere you have been before, getting off the train and feeling you have "arrived"!

That happened this week when ds and I went to Kent. We went to Broadstairs for the day, stepped off the train and ds threw his arms open and declared "Broadstairs"!

It was blowing a mighty wind and quite cold, but we had a great time!

Oh and totally agree with people who like the smell and sound of the sea.

Hearing my little boy thunder down the hall to meet me from work.

An early night with a good book,a hot chocolate and a packet of chocolate digestives listening to the wind and rain on a cold winter's night.

Pimms on a hot summers day

Watching DCat running down the garden to come in, and climb up me for a hug or chat away asking for food.

Clean bedding after a relaxing bath.

Being able to wake naturally without being woken by building noise, car doors, car horns or someone stomping down the stairs.

Seeing ddog lying flat on her back, all four legs in the air, waiting for a tummy rub
Waiting for dgs6 to come out of school and seeing his happy face when he sees me

That first cup of coffee in the morning
Hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream
A long shower
A long bubble bath
Naps! I love a good nap
When DS comes to me for a hug
When DP comes to me for a hug
Spending time with my sister
Cuddling a cat

Opening a new book
My dogs sigh of contentment as she falls asleep cuddled up to me

Singing in the car
Climbing into bed with freshly cleaned sheets
DH kissing me lightly when he thinks I'm asleep
A clean house (it doesn't happen often!)
