Mothers day dinner - what's on your plate?

Looking for some inspiration as I feel I'm getting boring and predictable. Preparing a mothers day dinner this evening and I always go for the usual roast beef or chicken. I had thought about making lasagne but we had that with friends on Friday.

I also have 3 quarters tub of sour cream left over in the fridge....

I'm having steak, chips, onions and mushrooms. DP is cooking it now and I'm salivating! Dd also having steak but fussy ds is having spaghetti and meatballs but without the meatballs

Prawn linguine with chilli and garlic. YUM!

I'll be packing in Sunday roast dinners for the summer soon anyway, so tonight I'm making Chicken Parmigiana and using ready-made breaded chicken boobs instead of doing my own. I really love cooking, but I think I deserve a shortcut or two and some wine today

DD and DS (18 and 9) cooked spaghetti bolognese and a banana loaf which were both lovely.

Last Mothers day I refused to acknowledge it because it was only a couple of weeks after my mum had passed and the one before that DD was in an almighty teenage strop and spent it with a friends mums 'as they were like real mums' to her so this has been lovely and special! Feeling very loved and spoilt.

No inspiration for you at all as we've had roast chicken dinner followed by Nigellas chocolate cloud cake. Delish!

Roast ham cooked by DH and overseen by ds. There will be wine too

Put Kleftiko in the oven a few hours ago. It's an all in one recipe so might just add pea purée to go with it.

I made it. I'm quite controlling about cooking.

That would be whatever I cook. Off to look in the freezer.

DP and I are taking his mum and dad out to an Italian. It should be nice. Table is later than I'd like and I'm tired already, but she'll appreciate me being there I think!

I don't have a DM, so Mother's Day is always a bit of a weird non-event for me. I hope you've all enjoyed your days as much as possible!

I've just scarfed down an amazing and enormous fish and chip supper from a takeaway I've been craving it all day so I'm happy!

Nope it wasn't roast ham!!! They surprised me with my favourite - roast lamb!

Spent the day house cleaning and several tip visits. DS is cooking me steak later (he's 15).

Box of chocolates

I made roast lamb for my mum for dinner yesterday.

Tonight I cooked ready made pizza for us all . That'll do.

Roast chicken as it's my favourite dish and DH makes it really well and then I made a chocolate & cherry pavlova for pudding.

Yesterday DD made a Bakewell tart in her Nanny’s flan dish. Her nan died before DD was born, but her grandad kept the flan dish! Today DH made Toad in the Hole with onion gravy and loads of veg. I am working today, so we had the Toad followed by the tart at midday today.

Salmon with white wine and cream sauce on tagliatelle with dill and asparagus. Mushrooms for dd.
Cooking it myself as as ‘d’h said I’m not his fucking mother!
