Yes, bread, milk, bananas. Used to be cheese, but then DH turned vegan and he was the one eating the most cheese. Now he has to restock hummus, falafals and spinach through the week.

Turquoisetamborine · 30/03/2019 07:58

Eggs, cheese and juice. My dad texts me every Thursday morning asking what I need at the shop and it’s akways those three plus milk and bread. He also gets me strawberry cream tarts as well bless him!

JenniferJareau · 30/03/2019 07:58

I freeze milk and bread so I can get them out as and when needed as the local shop doesn't always have suitable fresh bread and the expiry dates on their milk is short.

I will buy salad for lunches during the week and sometimes fruit.

Grapes, we seem to go through loads of grapes!

CookieSwirlC · 30/03/2019 07:59

Bread, bagels, crumpets, fresh berries, fromage frais.

This is what my children seem to live off. Berries are gone within the first two days of me buying them and the carbs need restocking mid week.

toptomatoes · 30/03/2019 08:01

Bread, milk and bananas too!

Stormwhale · 30/03/2019 08:01

Elllicam · 30/03/2019 08:04

emelsie · 30/03/2019 08:05

Yep pretty much the same, bread, milk, bananas, grapes and whatever sandwich filling OH is having at the time

BlingLoving · 30/03/2019 08:07

So glad it's not just us with the banana thing. We have to stock up on bread, milk, bananas, eggs, Greek yoghurt and sometimes grapes. I do feel if I got a bugger fridge freezer it would be easier as things like.yighurt and grapes would last a week, I just can't fit them in my fridge.

IceniSky · 30/03/2019 08:08

We keep bread and milk in a freezer in the garage and don't tend to top up.

Beginning of the week the fruit and bag salad go, towards the end we switch to carrots etc for snacks and eat more the peppers, aubergines, longer keeping foods.

Tinned fruit and frozen veg for backup.

I batch cook anything left over into soup. I don't eat meat so only really cook it once a week.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 30/03/2019 08:08

Milk, bread, yoghurt, bananas, apples, grapes, cucumber, red pepper, melon.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 30/03/2019 08:09

Ok, and maltesers.

Mmmhmmokdear · 30/03/2019 08:10

Milk, yoghurts, apples, cucumber.

Hyacintharehighersincelasttime · 30/03/2019 08:11

where would we be without bananas?

OP posts:
bonzo77 · 30/03/2019 08:12

Fruit and veg. I’ve got enough storage for everything else and a bread making machine.

RHTawneyonabus · 30/03/2019 08:12

Bread, milk and bananas

The last I try and buy two bunches one ripe and one green

We’ve got a bread maker now so solved that one.

After running out of milk relentlessly we’ve now got the milkman in twice a week. It’s no cheap but keeps my sanity

Hyacintharehighersincelasttime · 30/03/2019 08:13

two bunches, one of which is green, sounds like a great plan.

I do a weekend shop on a Friday..., always bread, milk, fruit plus wine, paracetamol, smoked salmon and bagels and bits for dinner and snacks for film night.

spritesandunicorns · 30/03/2019 08:14

Milk, bread, berries, apples, satsumas, houmous, breadsticks

RHTawneyonabus · 30/03/2019 08:14

Oh and growing salad in the garden but we tend not to have it much towards the end of the week.

Fresh OJ lasts about 12 hours in our house. Once it’s gone it’s gone.

InDubiousBattle · 30/03/2019 08:17

Milk, bread and fruit here too. Since having children it feels like I buy bananas at every time I walk past any shop that sells them.

DeathMetalMum · 30/03/2019 08:19

Just bread.

I buy two lots of bananas and they last a week (always buy some green ones). We use up soft fruit like berries first and then use others (kiwis, grapes, ripen at home plums or nectarines, clementines, apples) at the end of the week. Occasionally milk but usually a 6 pinter lasts us a week.
