Looking for lemon curd recommendations.

Not eaten it for years & not even sure if I still like it but inspired by another thread I'm fancying some on a hot cross bun.

Any you would recommend/avoid?

Tiptree lemon curd, delicious and no palm oil or lots of extra additives.

MrsKipling1980 · 29/03/2019 15:44

Thanks for that and no palm oil which is a bonus ☺

Make it op!! Google the delia smith recipe. It’s bascjally lemons, sugar and eggs. Heat, stir, put in a jar.

(Or just eat it warm from the saucepan) Wink

Takes about 30 mins start to finish!

Oh youve made me crave lemon curd now! When I was younger I remember packs of jam tarts had lemon curd ones. Now they all seem to be apricot :(

keenwasalad · 29/03/2019 15:49

Mmmm now I want lemon curd on toast.
I think tiptree also do passionfruit curd

Palominoo · 29/03/2019 15:49

I send the Tiptree one, I have bought it for my father and he is a Lemon Curd aficionado! Grin

CakeNinja · 29/03/2019 15:51

I buy the Waitrose 1 lemon curd and drop a spoonful on clotted cream on top of a scone just warm from the oven. Heavenly.

anniehm · 29/03/2019 15:52

I buy Morrison's premium one, but the best was from the National trust shop on holiday

GarthFunkel · 29/03/2019 16:02

Waitrose do an orange curd too - I've made a lovely Victoria sponge cake before with that. Mary Berry's whole lemon cake is bloody nice too but you can substitute the filling with lemon curd.

Had an earl grey scone with lemon curd and clotted cream in a teashop once - now that was lush.

needsleepzzz · 29/03/2019 16:05

Tiptree, the best!

LadyPenelope68 · 29/03/2019 16:06

The Tiptree one is THE best, bloomin gorgeous stuff

TinklyLittleLaugh · 29/03/2019 16:10

The Delia recipe is dead easy and delicious.

redwoodmazza · 29/03/2019 16:11

It's very simple and quick to make.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 29/03/2019 16:38

I can't recommend these highly enough. The lemon, lemon and lime and the passion fruit curds are all the perfect blend of fruity taste with a slight tartness that stops them being cloying.

myrtleWilson · 29/03/2019 16:41

Another vote for the Delia recipe!

labazsisgoingmad · 29/03/2019 16:42

you can make it so easy lime orange lemon passion fruit just like in the shops yummy

ineedaholidaynow · 29/03/2019 16:44

I buy the Waitrose one. Remember my GM always making lemon curd, maybe I should have a go at making it.

I make a Mary Berry lemon traybake with lemon curd, it is lush especially with custard

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 29/03/2019 16:47

Turkish delight curd, oh dear God yes!

Melroses · 29/03/2019 16:51

Yes - it is dead easy to make.

My DC used to have a recipe for a microwave version which I have lost now Sad

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/03/2019 16:56

The National Teust do a sour cherry curd, and used to do a coffee curd - both gorgeous! I have been given a coffee curd recipe but haven’t tried it yet.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/03/2019 16:58

Sorry - The National Trust. Blush

GoodGravy · 29/03/2019 17:03

It's so easy to make yourself, and you can have it exactly how you want it, especially if you like it more lemony.
You can also make an orange curd with Seville oranges which is out of this world.
It also keeps for much longer than you think IME.

Backseatonthebus · 29/03/2019 17:05

Lemon curd with Greek yoghurt. Divine.

Prequelle · 29/03/2019 17:16

SDTG

I love you for introducing me to something new

But

Also tiny bit dislike you because now I have a new pregnancy craving

And I haven't even tried them yet! I just LOVE sour cherry

Ingurr · 29/03/2019 17:21

Another vote for Delia Smith's recipe.
