Lunch bill

We went to a chain pub/restaurant type place today. More upmarket than a Harvester but not fancy by any means.

2 of us. Each had a starter and a main, and shared a bottle of house wine. How much would you say would be a reasonable bill for that?

Between £20 and £25?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 24/03/2019 17:10

£60

Matilda1981 · 24/03/2019 17:10

Each that was supposed to say!

JellyBeanScene · 24/03/2019 17:10

It's hard to say without knowing what you ate. Did you have steaks or a pasta dish?

NoTNoShade · 24/03/2019 17:10

£52

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 24/03/2019 17:12

Where are people eating that this would cost £60!?

willowandsage · 24/03/2019 17:12

I’d say around £50 for the pair of you.

Going on average of maybe £6 a starter per person, £11 a main per person and £14 a bottle of wine.

CakeNinja · 24/03/2019 17:13

£50-60 but depends on the starters and mains obviously!

Lobsterquadrille2 · 24/03/2019 17:14

I'd say £60 - £65.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 24/03/2019 17:14

Every single place near me.

CakeNinja · 24/03/2019 17:14

Trendy, £60 means £30 a head which is bloody cheap for a starter, main and half a bottle of wine Shock

zigzagbetty · 24/03/2019 17:15

Guessing about £6 a starter and £15 a main and £18 bottle wine, so £60 roughly?

Elllicam · 24/03/2019 17:15

£45-55?

Blueemeraldagain · 24/03/2019 17:15

I’d estimate £12 for a main (this could vary a lot)
£5 for a starter
And £8 for half a bottle of wine so £25 each?

zod1ac19 · 24/03/2019 17:15

£65?

BirdieInTheHand · 24/03/2019 17:16

£30 each

mcjx · 24/03/2019 17:16

£40-£50

TheFlis12345 · 24/03/2019 17:16

£6-£7 for each starter, £10-£15 for each main and £20-£25 for a bottle of wine? So roughly £55-£65 including service.

NoSquirrels · 24/03/2019 17:17

I’d also say about £30 each, give or take.

SillyBub · 24/03/2019 17:17

Ok, so let's say starter is £8, main meal £14 and bottle of house wine £18. That's £62. That's about what we pay for a decent pub lunch round these parts.

TheFlis12345 · 24/03/2019 17:18

Sorry, mine should have said NOT including service.

SavageBeauty73 · 24/03/2019 17:18

£60

Bookworm4 · 24/03/2019 17:20

The point of this is? Does nobody check a menu beforehand?

RiddleyW · 24/03/2019 17:20

£50-£70 ish totally depends on area

GooodMythicalMorning · 24/03/2019 17:20

£60-70?
