@WeeDangerousSpike crumpets done on hotplate in moulds not tins so can't have been numbered tins

FoxSquadKitten · 23/03/2019 16:09

I love a crumpet in the toaster with butter and Marmite.

Marmite? On a crumpet? Think that's worse than the mouse.... 🤢🤮

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 23/03/2019 16:21

i had a fraybentos pie with NO lid once, I think I emailed them and they said it was impossible, but I had taken pictures from all sorts of angles once I realised I had stopped taking off the lid so they could not accuse me of removing the pastry lid myself

Anyway once I told them that and offered to send the pics they backed down and sent me loads of vouchers!

I am a bit fated with pies, too, as dh once bought a fancy steak round from a local butcher and once it was cooked and cut he realised there was no filling in it! Turned out the butcher's wife who was in charge of pie making had been searching for her four bits of left over pastry that she had put on a foil pie plate to use next day....and they were all waiting with bated breath to see who had been stuck with the pastry filled pastry pie :o
She gave us a replacement pie and some sausages and bacon.

@babyno5 do you use travelling ovens or rack ovens?

I'm struggling to think of something you'd want to know about an individual crumpet (because otherwise there would be multiple batch '6' crumpets) that starts post bake... Would cooling be the only process? Wonder if they've got temp probe holes in the top...

Very over invested now Grin

babyno5 · 23/03/2019 16:43

@WeeDangerousSpike travelling ovens (in a previous life). I'm guessing it's a recipe trial. You're right there are probs my a few more numbered ones out there 😂😂

ABC1234DEF · 23/03/2019 17:12

I wonder if it's anything to do with packing with the recent CO2 crumpet crisis

babyno5 · 23/03/2019 17:23

@ABC1234DEF doubt it as the CO2 crisis was over by late summer. Besides they would have marked the packs not the crumpets if trialling different gases

catinboots99 · 23/03/2019 17:34

you can't write on a wet crumpet

That just finished me off Grin

TellMeItsNotTrue · 25/03/2019 02:02

If OP doesn't come back to the thread in a while with what Warburtons said, then I think it was obviously a super secret spy code and her and her DH were thought to know too much and have had their memories wiped and been given new identities Sad they will probably ensure that neither of them ever hears of MN again

Or, you know, she will confirm it was testing and that they are sending vouchers out...but will we ever know if that was really typed by OP or if it was typed by Warburtons during memory wiping taking place Wink

Heads over to the conspiracy thread Grin

Smotheroffive · 25/03/2019 02:44

I had sharp blades in mature English cheddar once! £10 voucher. They were part of the slicing and packaging process.

I haven't managed very well with the way the crumpets have just been tossed randomly (not even the right way up!) onto a bed, and then had a surreal moment where they were actually tiny blinis in comparison to the 'knee' before I realised it was a knee!

How altogether random OP!

AllGoodDogs · 25/03/2019 07:58

Not been Men In Blacked just yet, still waiting on a response from them as I think they only reply to emails Mon to Fri. I promise I won't ghost you all!

OP posts:
EastMidsGPs · 25/03/2019 08:26

but, but aren't they Pikelets not Crumpets??

peridito · 25/03/2019 09:05

@sassh
There is nothing wrong with the order, prime numbers first, or add the top number to the bottom and you get 13 for all of the 'pairs'. !!!

and @PerkingFaintly ascending order ?

I bet you both listen to those maths puzzles just before 7 on Radio 4 .

peridito · 25/03/2019 09:08

And MN ,you know how it's possible to highlight the OP posts ,could we have the facility to hide "all items/especially livestock baked into consumibles" posts ???

BikeRunSki · 25/03/2019 09:08

I think OP must have been moved on to the Warburtin’s Witness Protection Pogramne.

Alabasterangel6 · 25/03/2019 09:15

I found nail clippings (or rather torn/chewed off bits of someone’s nails) in a tin of plum tomatoes once.

AintNobodyHereButUsReindeer · 25/03/2019 09:23

@EastMidsGPs according to google, a pikelet is a crumpet, or a thin crumpet. So they could be either I suppose!

Hughes12345 · 25/03/2019 09:49

They’re crumpets, the writing’s on the bottom (which is making them look like pikelets)

BarryTheKestrel · 25/03/2019 09:59

I may do the lottery this week with these numbers just to see what happens!

groundcontroltomontydon · 25/03/2019 10:02

Given the connection between Warburton's crumpets and the Muppets, I suspect the involvement of Count von Count

MrsJDornan · 25/03/2019 10:15

I love how invested we are over crumpets Grin

BarbaraofSevillle · 25/03/2019 10:36

I really want crumpets now and am trying to resist as we're trying to avoid white carbs in our house and crumpets are especially bad as they make me more hungry even when eaten with poached eggs.

HugoBearsMummy · 25/03/2019 10:40

@TitsalinaBumSquash ffs that sounds like something from Sweeny Todd 🤮🤮

Draughtincluder · 25/03/2019 10:52

Brilliant Grin
Yuck at some of the stories about horrible things found in food though.

The only time we have had anything bad was when DDs juice had alcohol in it.
She said it tasted funny. Gave it to me and it stank of alcohol.

They didn't request it back but told me the seal part wasn't working on the machine when they investigated and it probably had just gone off.
But this bottle was actually fizzy!
We even left others out to test what happened.
