Apologies if this has already been linked, but just in case it hasn't, there is a petition to Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU if anyone is interested. Currently on 52k.

Yup, and the north midlands / potteries block is interesting
as is the Grimsby block
Clacton just reflects apathy
I suspect as does the Welsh valleys

but Corbyn and Hoey have very unhappy electors which could be fun if there is a GE

redredrobins · 24/03/2019 22:29

The largest % of electorate I found was 17%, so not many people statistically.

HawkeyeInConfusion · 24/03/2019 22:44

Bristol West is at 25% of the electorate redredrobns.

I'm not surprised by this last minute panic by remainers.
Any deal would never have Been good enough because remainers don't want to leave and that's fair enough.

But I wouldn't interpret rival marches ( which have Been Hilarious) or rival petitions as any sign of change from any leavers.

There's not anything for leavers to do at the moment. Absolutely no point in marching, or signing petitions!

YourOP · 25/03/2019 05:53

5.3 Million and rising steadily even through the night.

Don’t sign if you’re convinced that leaving is the best way forward.

Don’t sign if you agree with Theresa May that the best people to decide our future are 10 DUP MPs and the most extreme wing of her own party.

Otherwise, please sign and be counted.

InMySpareTime · 25/03/2019 06:55

I've noticed an increasing interest in politics from teenagers and young adults, disgruntled that their future is being decided by people who have given them no voice in shaping it. The petition is open to all UK citizens, even those under 18, so my DCs have been sharing the petition on their Insta and other SM platforms to get their friends to sign too.

InMySpareTime · 25/03/2019 08:28

This graph shows the rate of signing for the petition. It's interesting that the crashes on Friday didn't cause too much disruption to the signing rate.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 25/03/2019 10:52

Not sure that the measure as a % of electorate is meaningful as people who sign don't need to be on the electoral roll.

Obviously a lot of people!

Adonis is tabling his motion today, I think, so lets see what happens. Hoping the madness stops.

AdamNichol · 25/03/2019 11:47

Leave result got 17m votes, circa 25% of the population. Will be interesting to see if the petition gets anywhere near that. The problem is that there's multiple petitions though - spreading the support thinner.

Ultimately, the petition only merits examination by the folks who set Parliament's agenda for discussion - it's no guarantee of discussion, and certainly no guarantee of action. TM has been unequivocal that we will leave, and no one in the wings is going to oust her to change that. It may well be a case of will of the people counts, but only thru the official referendum, not the less secure petition.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 25/03/2019 12:08

Its about giving remainer MPs confidence that Leave doesn't have conclusive support from the electorate.

TalkinPaece · 25/03/2019 12:24

Interesting that Jess Phillips and Tom Watson have constituencies with sod all signatures

Fresta · 25/03/2019 13:00

16.1 million voted remain- so the fact it's not reached 17.4 million yet is irrelevant. The survey is proving that there are an awful lot of people who still wish to remain, and unless we have another referendum then we can't gain an accurate picture of how opinion may have changed or not changed in light of the difficulties and realities realised during the negation period.

Dire numbers in my constituency and all others around me :( very bottom of the table. Does show what and echo chamber social media is though as all my local friends/colleagues are sharing the petition on Facebook. Yet we must be the only ones signing here in the West Midlands!

Redskyandrainbows67 · 25/03/2019 21:04

So interesting! It’s again all the rich, doing well areas that want to remain and all the poorer, industrial areas want to leave! Turkeys voting for Christmas!
If we do remain reform is definitely required. And reconnection....

Trekkingbeyond · 25/03/2019 21:12

Love watching the numbers rapidly increase. Just out of interest I tried to sign it again but it tells you pretty quickly that you can't.

Mykingdomforanickname · 25/03/2019 22:12

If you know anyone who is pro-Remain but not active on social media, I think it's a good idea to make sure they know about the petition. It's easy to imagine that by now everyone must have heard of it, but if they're not social media users they may not have done. I've come across a couple of people in that category who signed straightaway once I sent them a link.

Mykingdomforanickname · 25/03/2019 22:38

Just seen that MPs have voted to take control of Commons business!

Redsky
What is known in the parlance as low voter engagement areas
and they are the areas who will be unhappy with whatever form Brexit takes.

Mykingdomforanickname · 26/03/2019 17:59

Petition now due to be debated in Parliament on Monday.

TalkinPaece · 26/03/2019 18:06

After Brexit day :-(

listsandbudgets · 27/03/2019 07:21

April Fools Day??? Are they trying to tell the 5.8 million people who've signed the petition that they are fools???

fussychica · 27/03/2019 09:26

They will debate but have already dismissed it, surprise, surprise!

Walkingwounded · 27/03/2019 11:29

Big push to get to over 6m?
