I've prepared a shepherd's pie and a trifle for later so that I can binge watch tv until I need to turn the oven on.
What are you having? A roast or something different?

Lasagne, followed by homemade Bakewell tart. Don't usually cook puddings at home but really fancied it today, so giving the recipe for Bakewell tart from Nigella's How To Eat a go... fingers crossed I don't ruin the pastry!

Aebj · 17/03/2019 12:01

I love Bakewell tart. If it works well you need to share the recipe!!! ( or even better make some and bring it to my house!!!!)

Today is a horrible day in my history so I've spatchcocked a chicken and covered it in Nando's do it yourself at home stuff with Mexican rice for me and my son. And for my 14 mth old dd she's having sausage mash and gravy. I hate this day so much I wanna sleep it away but I can't with a baby

Might get a Viennetta for dessert. Always reminds me of my mum!

MrsPear · 17/03/2019 12:25

Meatballs and spaghetti - food budget wouldn’t stretch to a joint this week.

Amfeelingfline · 17/03/2019 12:26

Pork belly slow cooked with vegs and potatoes Grin

BadlyAgedMemes · 17/03/2019 12:34

Possibly individual pies (sweet potato for me and venison for DH) with broccoli, maybe other veg? I don't know... I'll need to rummage around in the fridge.

Chewbecca · 17/03/2019 12:45

Another roast beef here.
With Yorkshires, roast potatoes, roast carrots, broccoli, leeks and peas.

Earlier poster - you can't really part cook it then cool it and then add last half hour on, the internal temperature will drop too much. In your situation I would either slow cook at a v low temperature so it doesn't matter if you leave it in another hour or so or just fully cook and leave to rest for ages under tin foil and a towel. If it needs reheating, just pop the slices in the gravy but if it has hot gravy and veg, it'll be ok anyway.

Terriblyhurt32 · 17/03/2019 12:55

Lemon and herb roast chicken with delicious sweet potatoes and veg. Also spicy lamb chops to add a bit of variety.

I'm on a diet so having salmon with a honey and chipotle dressing and yummy steamed veg !! For dessert it will be tea and scones with clotted cream and my 9 yr old daughters yummy home made jam !! ( none for me though lol)

ketchupormayo · 17/03/2019 12:58

Omelette salad and beans for lunch. Chickpea curry with veg for dinner

lucysmam · 17/03/2019 13:01

Slow roast brisket here with roast spuds, yorkshire puds and lots of veg.

Pudding will be buns made by dd2 (with supervision).

BitchQueen90 · 17/03/2019 13:01

Roast chicken for us in about half an hour. We always have one on a Sunday unless we're away, DS loves them. Tonight we'll just have bread and cheese and salad-y bits.

poorbuthappy · 17/03/2019 13:02

Chicken roast with mash just to piss my kids off! Grin

Pavlova31 · 17/03/2019 13:05
