I had a manager who came out with naff phrases such as "the whole kit and caboodle" and "pump priming". I never knew what the latter meant.

fiddlesticks86 · 15/03/2019 21:45

Bae

I have absolutely no idea what one of those is but that word annoys me immensely!

The80sweregreat · 15/03/2019 21:47

Politicians also like this phrase. They know best .. ( as if)

One of my good friends calls food ‘noms’ and calls a sandwich a ‘sammich’ (only via text).

I love her dearly but fuck me, it makes me want to peel my skin off.

Bezalelle · 15/03/2019 21:56

"Life choices"

Sticking a random female name into a sentence in an attempt at humour.

The80sweregreat · 15/03/2019 21:56

It could be worse.. no, it couldn't!

SpamChaudFroid · 15/03/2019 21:56

1Raconteur · 15/03/2019 21:58

"I work hard and I play hard!"

Just sounds like you are coping or trying to justify and excuse your binge drinking or drug taking.

WideLane · 15/03/2019 22:04

Describing emotions or experiences as a "rollercoaster". Unless, of course, the experience was on an actual rollercoaster at Thorpe Park or Alton Towers or the like, in which case I'll allow usage.

What does riddle me this mean?

utterflapdoodle · 15/03/2019 22:07

"Does that make sense?"

I haven't lived in the UK since 2002. At work I am now dealing with a UK based IT support team and they end virtually every reply with this phrase. Is this so normal now that nobody notices how bloody annoying it is?

Randomishusername · 15/03/2019 22:16

Happy holidays winds me up!

Housewife2010 · 15/03/2019 22:32

I loathe copious use of "like".

LarryGreysonsDoor · 15/03/2019 22:34

‘Everything happens for a reason’.

Does it now? And the reason for me losing my one chance at a baby was?

INeedToGetHealthy · 15/03/2019 22:37

'Give your head a wobble'
