I feel upset, sick and cheated by Leaving Neverland

I was one of those people who kept saying the men are out to make money. That there’s no evidence etc. But I finally watched the documentary yesterday and it’s hurt me a lot. I feel like I was lied to my whole life. I know it sounds so melodramatic and selfish but MJ was my idol growing up. I remember being 7 years old and dancing and singing his songs.

Now I feel sick to the core. If Wade Robson and James Safechuck are lying, then they’re incredibly good liars.

MJ was a paedophile.

The documentary is surely it's own evidence...

No its not its there word against his if was alive.

Ginnymweasley · 04/04/2019 12:52

But you asked for evidence that the documentary wasnt altered. The only evidence for that is the documentary unless you have links to some unseen footage. It is impossible to prove that something is unaltered if you can only view the one version......

Ginnymweasley · 04/04/2019 12:58

Also he does mention the train station. He also provided the photos used in the documentary of said train station so that proves he was there when it was constructed. Getting confused by dates is not that uncommon in abuse victims, he admits to been abused into his teens which still fits with the timing of the train station.

Duster12 · 04/04/2019 13:04

Ultimately, you read tabloids, listened to small talk in the canteen, and believed some shitty documentary full of lies. Now you've convinced yourself the guy was a paedo and seem compelled to 'star' on threads about Michael Jackson, hoping to share your amazing, painstaking level of decades of in-person research that you have undertaken with other braying 'dim bulbs'. That's great, and it's a good look for you.

🤭

Ginnymweasley · 04/04/2019 13:11

I don't read tabloids or have a work canteen. Please show me your amazing evidence that will prove that there isn't something inherently wrong with a grown man sharing a bed with small children he is not related to.
Let me guess you love his music... he spoke to you through it, helped you through some bad times etc etc. People just don't get him like real fans like you do.
We can all make sweeping generalisations based on no facts about the other poster. But I managed not to call you names....

thetwits · 04/04/2019 13:48

He was abused from 1988 to 1992?

ccmrob12 · 04/04/2019 13:48

Well that makes a change Ginny, most other posters on here only seem capable to throwing insults to those who disagree with them. I suppose when your've been triggered and had your emotions played with people tend to get a bit touchy. No need to throw insults at strangers on a forum though who disagree with them.

ccmrob12 · 04/04/2019 13:50

@thetwits He was very explicit about the dates, that he was abused. 1992. The train station wasn't built until 1993 and not open until 1994. It's a massive gaff by Dan Reed who said he fact checked everything.

thetwits · 04/04/2019 13:55

Everyone knows how weird he was. There was documentaries on how weird he was. Everyone knew he was a strange man so why should they be believed is it because they say so.

Ilikeslippers · 04/04/2019 14:13

Oh for goodness sake, I literally can't remember what year I got married in, it doesn't mean I am not married. People get dates wrong all the time.

Why is a grown man sharing a bed with young boys and having a system of alarms to alert him when people come close to his room, and pornography sexualising children not a red flag to you? Why does a mis-remembered date wipe that out?

Your thought processes and arguments remind me of my abusive ex tbh. No overwhelming onslaught of evidence would ever cause him to believe something he didn't want to. Any slight thing was sufficient to dismiss that overwhelming onslaught.

thetwits · 04/04/2019 14:20

Dates and times is everything if it was me I would sue. Look at Paris after her father died she coped and then this documentary comes out she's in hospital trying to kill herself.

thetwits · 04/04/2019 14:21

Okay

Ginnymweasley · 04/04/2019 14:25

She herself stated she didn't try and commit suicide..... but of course it's just her word isn't it so we shouldn't believe it.

BelindasRedPlasticHandcuffs · 04/04/2019 14:28

Has this been proven? I though it was fake news and that she and other sources have said it's rubbish?

Sagradafamiliar · 04/04/2019 14:32

I'm a mother to 4 children. Come on

Come on what?

thetwits · 04/04/2019 14:33

I was on her twitter page people were hounding her. She couldn't believe that people took such an interest in her life poor woman. Even up to mumsnet.

SassyBadger · 04/04/2019 14:35

No its not its there word against his if was alive.

Victim testimony is a form of evidence.

thetwits · 04/04/2019 14:36

What did they testify.

thetwits · 04/04/2019 14:37

It was in a court of law at the time.

Ginnymweasley · 04/04/2019 14:39

But she stated 4 times and her representatives have said that she did not try and commit suicide, she had an accident and had to go to hospital.
She also stated that people wanted a reaction that she wasnt going to give. She has been dignified. Like I said I feel sorry for his children cause they didn't ask for this but neither did the men in the film or the others that have made similar claims.

thetwits · 04/04/2019 14:46

I'm not saying she wasn't being dignified. People are throwing stones and its hitting his kids. He's dead what now. Look at this thread all talking about her loving father. She's dignified but people on here can you call yourselves dignified gossiping behind a screen.

Ginnymweasley · 04/04/2019 14:52

But it was her father actions that have created this situation.
You are the one making claims about her mental health.
The documentary was made, people will talk about it. Just because someone is dead doesn't mean that their victims shouldn't be heard. Would you say the same about Saville? Sexual abuse of children, boys especially, is often swept under the carpet, these allegations should be discussed to open more dialogue about what can be done to protect children and to help victims. Firstly that people should listen to them.

thetwits · 04/04/2019 14:56

They all took the money if it was me I would fight to put him in jail. I am a mother of 4 children if someone puts a finger on my child I will go to jail. They testified in court that he did not touch them.

thetwits · 04/04/2019 14:57

Maybe they should be prosecuted for lying in a court of law.

Sagradafamiliar · 04/04/2019 14:58

So should victims keep quiet because the abusers have children? That's a terrible, emotionally abusive burden to put on someone.
I wonder if some people don't understand court procedures very well. You can't deliver a guilty verdict just by believing victims and being convinced by their testimonies, there needs to be enough evidence. So, given a lack of evidence, I wonder if these same people defending MJ on the basis of being acquitted, explain the 3% rape conviction rate as there being a hell of a lot of liars making things up.
