Horrible weather! What is everyone doing?

Awful day. I don't mind rain but there's strong winds predicted, and if we attempt to brave the elements the toddler will probably be blown off his little feet.

What is everyone up to?

DH is bringing the kids to visit family. I'm going to potter at some housework this morning, then light the fire and spend the afternoon rewatching Game of Thrones with a pile of cats, while slow-cooking an oxtail casserole.

DinosApple · 03/03/2019 08:19

Housework, kids homework, work from home work, (too much work in there for my liking!). Followed by a trip to the tip. Grin

Then a roast.

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 03/03/2019 08:22

Dh will take the kids to their football matches. I'll start the day with aerobics at the leisure centre, followed by a big breakfast, housework and a roast dinner Smile

Sulliess · 03/03/2019 08:27

Waiting for a call back from 111 for DD. If everything turns out ok then i'll be home for the day nursing her whilst getting on with the housework.

My to do list reads: 3 x loads of washing, email DD's science teacher, clean out the car, tidy girls bedroom and phone the mobile phone insurance company. It's all go here!

Mine want to visit a Roman fort but I can't face a mile's hike over a hill to look at stones in 50mph winds. So I think I'm going to take them to Primark (new jammies for me), use their book tokens at Waterstones and then I'm going to buy them a bloody chicken (from the chicken thread - this is not a thread about a thread - this is a chicken born of an illegal chicken). Grin

wendz86 · 03/03/2019 08:28

Just lounging around watching films at the moment . The kids dad is taking eldest to gymnastics and both out somewhere this afternoon so I’m going to do a bit of housework and watch some tv .

Sulliess · 03/03/2019 08:28

Theres a chicken in the fridge which needs cooking so i'll bung that in at some point and the kids can have chicken wraps when they get home from their dads.

Drogosnextwife · 03/03/2019 08:30

DP is working all weekend so going for breakfast with my mum and the kids in an hour. Then no idea.

thefirst48 · 03/03/2019 08:30

Doing the ironing for the week now, jump in the shower, dress the kids then take a walk to my parents for the afternoon and have a roast dinner.

heartofthehouse · 03/03/2019 08:31

It’s lovely here - gusts of up to 25 mph so I am still going for a long walk.

PepperSteak · 03/03/2019 08:35

It’s started raining here which is a shame as DP’s family were coming to visit us at the seaside.

DD has been up since since six but has now crashed out on me which is a shame as I’m going to have to get her up to go food shopping soon.

AngelDS · 03/03/2019 08:37

Made a huge batch of pancakes (Gary Rhodes) best recipe I have tried. Only to realise 1/2 way through radio presenter mentioned it's pancake day Tuesday ... going to be pancake week 🤣

Clutterbugsmum · 03/03/2019 08:39

Once I've finished drying the washing, I will sort and put away. Then I will sort out my younger clothes that they outgrown/no longer like as I been putting it off for weeks. Have already done ours and older DC's.

I can then take to the charity shop in the week. So I can start 'spring clean' next week.

Then this have a quiet afternoon.

Clutterbugsmum · 03/03/2019 08:40

younger CHILDREN clothes that they outgrown/no longer

I've signed up to Race at Your Pace challenge for March. You can run, walk, cycle or swim and there are lots of different targets to choose from. I've decided to try the 50 miles bike ride challenge. You do have a month to get the miles in and I'm off out to try and do my first couple.
Wish me luck.
I'm fifty, fat and unfit ( still fabulous in my own way thoughGrin) but I've treated myself to a pretty bike with a 🧺 and a 🛎 and a big fat saddle so I just need to get out on it.
When I get back it'll be the usual Sunday laundry, housework, baking and cooking a roast.

Amfeelingfline · 03/03/2019 08:42

Housework (after I finish wasting time on mumsnetmy second coffee, cook a Chili con carne, then hopefully go for a long hike with friends to train for our forthcoming charity walk...it looks really grim today so expecting friends to pull out of it...

Amfeelingfline · 03/03/2019 08:42

Delete fail 😳

lljkk · 03/03/2019 08:43

2 boys need chaffeuring to friends' houses, probably both there until at least 7pm.
DD at work
DH out cycling.
Me: been catching up on some work & dossing on MN
I will run & swim... but thinking maybe I should clean house!

tsonlyme · 03/03/2019 08:46

I’m on a narrow boat drinking tea, eating toasted hot cross buns and watching the ducks go by in the rain.

Later I will be cleaning up, heading home and watching a sci-fi movie from the comfort of my bed.

(Kids are adults and can look after themselves)

Grosserygangrule · 03/03/2019 08:48

Chilling out this morning then taking ds to a party, then family visit after, easy dinner of stew in the slow cooker, then getting work ready for tomorro. Did housework yesterday at least

Eminybob · 03/03/2019 08:50

We are planning to go to a National Trust place as they have a “Percy the Park Keeper” trail and DS has been reading the books at school so he’s dead excited to go. But it’s bloody pissing it down and it’s mostly outside so that’s going to be fun Sad

GrumpyOldMare · 03/03/2019 08:50

I'm on the train on my way to work.

InsomniaTho · 03/03/2019 08:53

This morning me and DP and are pottering around doing housework whilst entertaining DToddler.

This afternoon he’s going home, and DToddler and I are going to a friends house for dinner.

This evening elder DC are home from their Dads so eldest DD will insist I check her homework whilst we watch a “big kids” film after DToddler is in bed.

lucysmam · 03/03/2019 08:54

It's quite bright here & the wind's died down since last night so we'll wander to Lidl for packed lunch stuff, and pancake toppings.

Then just normal Sunday stuff of ironing & homework (except I think they both did homework while I was at work yesterday ).

Atm, both girls are still sleeping though, so I'm enjoying a peaceful cuppa & considering washing up from last night's curry.

BarkandCheese · 03/03/2019 08:59

DD has a rehearsal from 10am to 5pm. Once she’s dropped off I intend to spend the day batch cooking and watching Netflix downstairs, while DH irons and watches Netflix upstairs. If the weather brightens up at any point I’ll walk the dog, but if it stays like this she’s having an inside exercise day, she’s a tiny dog so half an hour of chasing her toys around the kitchen wears her out.
