Horrible weather! What is everyone doing?

Awful day. I don't mind rain but there's strong winds predicted, and if we attempt to brave the elements the toddler will probably be blown off his little feet.

What is everyone up to?

Me and the baby have just gone back to bed!!! Older 2 are downstairs colouring in, and have breakfast muffins and milk to keep them going.

It's wet here so I have no plans to leave the house. DP is pricing a job and when he gets home he is going to take the oldest suit shopping, as they both need suits for a family wedding in a few weeks.

I'm going to prep dinner (Chinese style marinated pork), puree a weeks worth of food for the baby, change the cat litter tray and clear all the cloth horses. Need to also fit in homework, reading and baths for everyone. Going to do it all with regular tea breaks Grin

Otterses · 03/03/2019 09:07

I'm not sure! We're all feel a bit uninspired and the rain is really heavy here, so that rules out any outdoor activities Sad

DS has been up since 4. So a nap for him, I've got an assessment to get started on, then maybe we'll head to the shopping centre for lunch for a wander round. They've got a big indoor play park in there which should hopefully keep DS happy.

poodlewoodle · 03/03/2019 09:11

It's bright but v cold where I am so after coffee no 2 shower and take dog out for a walk somewhere with trees. Then prep for work and maybe a visit from DDad

NopeNi · 03/03/2019 09:11

I love this weather, so I'm feeling pretty upbeat! About to go out for the day Smile

ineedaholidaynow · 03/03/2019 09:18

We are meant to be going to a hockey tournament with DS. The thought of standing outside for 5 hours in this weather is not inspiring me to get out of bed at the moment! I keep hoping we will get an email saying it is cancelled

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 03/03/2019 09:20

Going to get dressed soon and head out to drink Brew and read the paper.
Planning a quiet day to end a week of leave.
Have cleaned and sorted loads this week so the house finally feels a bit tidier now so want to actually make the most of that.
Cooking a ham in coke for dinner so that will slow cook all day
Weather is pants so cosy comfort food it is

maddiemookins16mum · 03/03/2019 09:22

We’ve just had tea and toast in bed watching last nights Casualty. DD is in the shower and DP will drop her at church in an hour. I’ve got some housework to do, plus want to change the bedding. DP is working on a Powerpoint presentation needed for a course they’re are presenting this week. Then DP will do the weekly ironing (watching some Netflix at the same time).

Once I’ve straightened up I’ll have a nice bath, catch up with Masterchef and prep a lovely roast chicken dinner. I’ll pick DD and DMIL up from church at 12.45pm.
Lunch about 2pm (ish).
Sunday afternoons are then slob out time, DMIL will do her embroidery, I’ll snooze on the sofa, DP will play Xbox lego with DD and then about 7pm DMIL goes and does Sunday supper for us all (she brings goodies every week and last week it was homemade scotch eggs). After that we watch CTM, take DMIL home, DD has a bath, gets her school stuff sorted and we’ll be all in bed asleep by 10.30pm.
I love Sundays, good food, great company and some chill time.

KindleAndCake · 03/03/2019 09:22

I got up earlier and made me and ds1 some scrambled eggs. I'm now back in bed with a coffee. I will get up soon and iron while watching tv, then a roast later.

MillieMoodle · 03/03/2019 09:22

Had bacon sandwiches for breakfast. About to get showered and dressed then into town for eye tests for me and DS1. Quick look around primark too as I have lots of vouchers left from Christmas and birthday. Then to supermarket to get lunch bits and then over to visit DH's nan who's recovering from a badly broken arm so is in a sort of recuperation home atm. Lunch with her, then out to get swimming stuff for DS1 as they start lessons at school this week.

The letter came home on Friday saying they cannot wear shorts, it must be trunks, and they must wear a swimming hat so we need to buy both. Then DS1 has a swimming lesson later (where he doesn't need a swimming hat and can wear shorts!).

Hoping to get some housework done this afternoon if I have time and will paint my nails this evening while watching Netflix. Busy day here!

NopeNi · 03/03/2019 09:31

That sounds like such a lovely family day Maddie, it's so nice that your daughter has her grandma around so much.

confusedofengland · 03/03/2019 09:32

Nothing much at all! DH & DS1 have gone to football for the morning, as per usual Hmm So DS2, DS3 & I will do online homework, spellings & reading this morning, then they can do Play-Doh while I do some computer bits. When the others get back, they can all do written homework. Then maybe some board games this afternoon & roast pork for dinner.

Which all sounds fine in theory, but we have to get out or they go crazy. It's only 9.32 & the little 2 are already getting that way & we live in a village & DH & DS1 have the only car...Sad

BarbedBloom · 03/03/2019 09:33

I’m reading and drinking a cup of tea (no kids). I spent almost all day yesterday in the garden so I don’t feel guilty. May watch a film later once dinner is in the slow cooker

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 03/03/2019 09:34

What I would like to do:
Finish my cuppa
Change the beds
Rearrange books on my brand new lovely bookcase that DH assembled yesterday
Maybe do a bit of tidying/laundry if I can be arsed
Drink lots of tea.

What I will end up doing:
Entertain the DC (6 & 3) and supervise the 6yo’s homework.
Might manage to change the beds but I’ll end up being “helped”.

But DH is cooking a roast later, so I’m looking forward to that. Roll on bedtime! Grin

I know everyone says “treasure the moments, you’ll miss this when they’re older”, but OMG, can’t wait till we don’t have to wipe bums and be constantly supervising 24/7.

YouBoggleMyMind · 03/03/2019 09:44

Going to a local garden centre and having coffee and cake 🍰

OMGithurts · 03/03/2019 09:46

We need to Go Somewhere. We had a relaxing day at home on Friday, and were at home for DS's birthday party yesterday. The DC (4 & 2) are getting a bit stir crazy and are bickering.

OP posts:
chilledteacher · 03/03/2019 09:47

Watching DS2 play football Hmm

OMGithurts · 03/03/2019 09:48

Normally we are all happy to stroll to playgrounds but it is so wet the ground will be a swamp and the climbing frames will be too slippy, plus as I said, DS is likely to be blown over.

I went out last night with friends and feel suspiciously chipper this morning.

I suspect this means I'm still drunk I did not drink that much last night and I will be able to spend the day unfettered by hangover symptoms. I am still lying in bed just to be on the safe side though.

I do need to do the Waitrose shop and some odds and ends in the house. Also find a time to get DDogs out between the storms Hmm

happypotamus · 03/03/2019 10:07

The weather looks ok here (west midlands). It isn't raining or windy at the moment.

I am trying not to collapse from exhaustion after being kept awake nearly all night by DD2's cough. This is on the back of a horrendous couple of weeks at work that I need to recover from.
Haven't taken DDs to church, because I didn't want to inflict DD2's germs on the babies, elderly and immunocompromised people that would also be there and her cough is so loud no one would be able to hear.
DH has gone out to enjoy his hobby. I need to do some housework. Am supposed to be taking DD2 to a birthday party later. It will be her friends from nursery, and she presumably got this cough from nursery, so am trying to decide if it is ok to take her.
Also, have to make DD1 do homework and clean up the house a bit, but we haven't even got up yet.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 03/03/2019 10:08

Made it out Grin
Currently sitting in Starbucks with what are clearly other like minded people as no one is speaking
Bliss

Stormwhale · 03/03/2019 10:09

Craft bits for a school project with dd, then popping to see my grandparents. Home for lunch then over to the in-laws for a bit.

To be honest, all I want to do is curl up with dd for a film or something. I'm 26 weeks pregnant, I feel like shit and my hormones are all over the place. I would much rather hide today.

MaidenMotherCrone · 03/03/2019 10:29

I did it! Hurrah for me and my lovely new bike with a 🛎 and a 🧺.

5 1/2 miles in the rain along the coastal path.
I admit I've looked (and felt) better but yay I did. 44 1/2 miles to go for my first medal 🏅.

All other items on my Sunday to do list may not happen as I'm unable to move my legs now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Slippershoes · 03/03/2019 10:36

Housework this morning and the big park after lunch. It's a bit windy but beautiful sunshine here.

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 03/03/2019 11:49

Well done MaidenMotherCrone and may I say great username Grin

CoodleMoodle · 03/03/2019 14:58

DD(5) is on the floor playing with her cars. DS(8 months) is in the Jumperoo watching her. It's been a morning of TV so it's nice they're playing.

I'm sorting out the washing, DH is working on his laptop/watching the kids. He's on dinner duty tonight (sausages), and he's got to do the bins. I'll do the washing up after we've eaten.

We all had baths and showers this morning so I'm looking forward to not having to do that after dinner!
