Love my undercut. I have very thick hair and it's thinned it right out.

Downside is they're a total pain to grow out but there are ways.

Disclaimer, the beautiful lady is not me Grin (but same cut)

I have one and personally I love it. I have incredibly thick hair which still manages to look really thick WITH the undercut. I can let it dry naturally now though and don't need lots of products and straighteners.
Sorry I don't have pic to hand right now.
Wish I'd had it done years ago though.

gubbsywubbsy · 25/02/2019 14:03

Cool.. sounds promising .. my hair is very 'curly and 'fat' and sticks out . I think this may help .. I'm just a bit scared 😬😬

I have shit, thin, weedy hair so I wouldn't suit one at all

I just wanted to say that I absolutely love them (the pic is stunning).

Just go for it, OP.

It's only hair, it'll grow back quickly if it turns out you don't like it.

Go on....

Thisnamechanger · 25/02/2019 14:09

I have one, short victoria beckham style but shaved on the sides and back. Top is bleached undercut is natural (dark blonde) I LURVE it!

ItchySeveredFoot · 25/02/2019 14:10

My sister has been doing it for years and loves it. You can't tell when her hair is down and it looks cool when up in a bobble.

Bumping for the evening crowd 🤗

I was really wanting to get one, but I'm 42 and feel perhaps too old for it....my daughters just laughed when I told them what I was thinking of doing.
I have very thick hair, it's wavy and shoulder length and huge.....
Anyone had one my age and loved it?

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 25/02/2019 19:18

I've wanted one of these for ages, my hair is so thick but I just seem to be getting the hang of the 'natural wavy look' so I feel like I don't want to rock the boat!

MitziK · 25/02/2019 19:19

Had one at 44 (mainly because I had really bad Psoriasis and the back of my head/neck was agony all summer). Had one in my twenties by choice.

Very fine hair - but it looked perfect (and didn't need doing as often as friends with thicker hair).

If you want to do it, go for it - after all, it'll grow back soon enough if you decide you don't want to have one again.

Poljhds · 25/02/2019 19:22

and feel perhaps too old for it. Shock

Never!

It's just hair. It'll grow back! Do it! I'm not too far off your age.

DaisyChainsForever · 25/02/2019 19:32

I had 1 for about 18 months, but I got so fed up of getting it trimmed every 4 weeks I grew it out. My hair grows quite fast and as soon as it started to get long it looked awful!

GlitterPixie · 25/02/2019 19:36

My hair is very thick getting the undercut 2 years ago is the best thing ever I will NEVER grow it out. I think they suit all hair lengths and styles too and you can make it as extreme or subtle as you want

IntentsAndPorpoises · 25/02/2019 19:39

I had one for about a year. I loved it. It wasn't that bad to grow out.

I'm considering getting one done again. Only reason not to is my hairdresser will roll his eyes as I've only just grown it out!

gubbsywubbsy · 25/02/2019 19:44

I'm 44 😬... I have bad skin at my neck too and I think a lot of it is because it gets hot there because my hair is so thick.

Anyone prepared to show me pics please 🙏🏻

Elphame · 25/02/2019 19:47

I'm seriously considering one (and I'm the wrong side of 50!). My hair is incredibly thick and strong and takes forever to dry ( last hairdresser visit took nearly 6 hours.......)

Hairdresser is in favour but I'm a little nervous too

gubbsywubbsy · 25/02/2019 19:53

I'm thinking along these lines

@Elphame shall we get it done together 😂😬

@gubbsywubbsy - I like those! I've got to do something and I don't want to cut my hair short yet. Last hairdressing appt was ridiculous though

UndercutAt47 · 25/02/2019 20:13

I have name changed as I think these photos are very outing, even with my amateur attempts at editing!

I have very thick, almost triangular hair, and love my undercut. I have a job where one moment I can be in a meeting with solicitors, the next crawling in a basement, so the hairstyle is fab for both.

DuchessOfPhysics · 25/02/2019 20:14

I'm thinking of it too. I had long hair and it's wavy and prone to frizz as well so blow drying it took hours. I got it cut quite short in a moment of frustration and now I"m growing it again, I'm thinking, I'll get frustrated with it again but I don't want to get it short again.
However, I have suggested it many times to hair dressers and they act like the sky would fall down.
I'm going to collect pictures and insist when my hair gets a bit longer.

DuchessOfPhysics · 25/02/2019 20:16

I feel I"m too old for it too at 48 but fekk it. I want one and I it cannot look worse than TRIANGLE head.

UndercutAt47 · 25/02/2019 20:18

Those saying they're too old... if you wear your hair down no one will know anyway! I got away with it for months before I showed someone..then everyone wanted to see it!

gubbsywubbsy · 25/02/2019 20:21

@UndercutAt47 love it .. and your hair still looks so thick !!
Mine can go very triangle if I don't sleep on it !
I'm only scared as I don't want to have thin hair after living my whole life with fat hair although I do want it to sit straight 🤷‍♀️
