What weird thing do you get complimented on?

Not a stealth brag. I have had numerous people say how wonderful my pushchair looks, "ooh! I've never seen one like that before, they weren't like that in my day" kind of thing (so mainly people that haven't recently had kids, and also by a pregnant lady). Thing is, what they are amazed at is a bog standard infant carrier car seat on a very basic metal pushchair frame!

I did have a nice carrycot (tweedy type) on it once that a very hipster bloke complimented me on as a 'mix of vintage and modern'. But it's always the car seat. I don't get it.

Anyone else get anything like this?

Aren't your little finger nails dainty!

I love the way you put on a cardigan.

You are very diplomatic and don't suffer fools, but you're not a bitch. How do you do it?

My thick hair which feels like a curse to me at times. Also because I still have virtually no grey hairs.

The fact I've never had any stitches or tears from giving birth.

The fact I'm happily married (we got together and had DC1 at a young age)

I was once told I had "very feminine ankles".

Loads of people compliment the fact my children all look very alike! Odd because it's obviously not something I could control, it's unsurprising as they have the same parents and finally because to me they look completely different!

My nose.

My (apparent) serenity. Patients and people I’ve cared for in the past tell me I exude a sense of calm. My family and friends regularly comment (favourably) on what a chilled-out parent I am. DS1 wrote at school that he loves me because I’m ‘not flappy’.

...except I have diagnosed anxiety disorder, and have recently taken to shutting myself in small dark spaces to keep the panic at bay, so can only assume I’ve projected so much calm that I now have none left Grin.

My swearing. Apparently, it doesn't sound offensive because I have a naice accent and combine various words in an unusual way.

Weirdest compliment I've had was when my male friend made a fuss over how symmetrical my face is Confused We were late teens, and at the time I preened, however looking back, not sure how I actually should have taken it.

On a more important matter, I'd love that recipe @thebabessavedme Grin Pretty please.

I've got a pretty big, lovely Tiffany diamond ring.
People compliment it a lot, I think they expect some lovely love story attached, but I bought it myself with a work bonus!

I was once told that I looked rich!

Astonishing really, as I've always been rather badly paid. Perhaps it's because I wear pastel shades which I coordinate. I can't afford top quality and have never bought designer labels.

Just read the comment about not reading the 'weird' part!
Well, it is weird to compliment a stranger's figure or remark on someone's body

Nothing remotely weird about being complimented on one's figure Confused It is weird to be complimented on say, one's head shape or nail beds. It's really not that difficult to grasp

Crystalblue13 · 13/02/2019 12:05

Everyone always comments on my daughter’s beautiful eyes 😍

Crystalblue13 · 13/02/2019 12:38

O I didn’t read the “weird” part either sorry!

Jimpix · 13/02/2019 12:51

When my twins were newborn, it was amazing the amount of people that thought I was oh so clever for managing to have a boy AND a girl. A very odd thing to be complimented on!

I have a certain pair of earring which always get lots of compliments. They were in the bargain bin at a charity shop and cost £1.00!
