What weird thing do you get complimented on?

Not a stealth brag. I have had numerous people say how wonderful my pushchair looks, "ooh! I've never seen one like that before, they weren't like that in my day" kind of thing (so mainly people that haven't recently had kids, and also by a pregnant lady). Thing is, what they are amazed at is a bog standard infant carrier car seat on a very basic metal pushchair frame!

I did have a nice carrycot (tweedy type) on it once that a very hipster bloke complimented me on as a 'mix of vintage and modern'. But it's always the car seat. I don't get it.

Anyone else get anything like this?

My accent. Live in the US & get compliments almost daily for a rather shabby Yorkshire dialect. I actually feel self conscious back in UK now when I'm no longer worthy of coddling.

My feet are titchy and random people comment on how pretty they are!?? My sister says they are like trotters though because they are not much longer than my actual ankles, so this stops me getting too big headed 😂
Also recently my cuticles.

Elephantshoe · 11/02/2019 02:51

My teeth 😁

That makes me sound like a mutant. I do have actual feet, just certain shoes look a bit too trottery.

Decormad38 · 11/02/2019 03:13

I think some people have missed the point of this thread. 😆 Yes complete strangers just stop me because I’m so beautiful 😂 It’s really weird but not surprising.

I once overheard a teenage boy say to his mates "That girl's hair is sick!" in tones of awe. I was the only female in the vicinity, and my hair is pretty long. I was chuffed! Smile

My bell curve!

Actually, it’s a graphic of physical output in my hour-long sweatathon at the gym. Apparently I have the optimum proportion of low, medium and high output.

That’s literally the only compliment I’ve had so far this year. A beautiful bell curve 😂

DreamingOfCalifornia · 11/02/2019 07:01

My eyebrows. Which is funny as I was bullied for how hairy they were when I was in high school but since then brows have become a thing!
My name. It’s not common at all and even less so back home. I see it suggested on here more and more though.

BibbityBobbityEars · 11/02/2019 07:21

Being brave and being laid back and cheery.

Those who know me well know that this is very far from the truth!

PepperSteak · 11/02/2019 07:31

For being a calm teacher. I must be like a duck because I’ve never once felt calm while teaching.

LilQuim · 11/02/2019 07:33

My West Country accent. I'm from Scotland.

My 'bravery'. I'm not remotely brave. Life shit happened & I kept on living.

SamStephens · 11/02/2019 07:41

My work lunches - apparently they always look/smell amazing to the extent I caught a colleague years ago sniffing mine. I gave it to her as I wasn’t keen on eating a meal someone had stuck their nose in. Ick.

My pram - because it’s purple!? Also because it’s a double decker instead of side by side.

Also my laugh.. which has made me self conscious because I’ve probably got four different “laughs” depending on the level of hilarity.

n0ne · 11/02/2019 07:45

My hugs. I'm a champion huggerSmile

Happilyacceptingcookies · 11/02/2019 07:46

My eyebrows and my name.

Kintan · 11/02/2019 07:50

Once I went through airport security in the US and was told that I have very pretty fingerprints! Also at work people seem to love my handwriting even though I think it’s a bit of a messy scrawl!

ShannonRockallMalin · 11/02/2019 07:51

I was in my DSs school reception the other day signing something and the receptionist and a teacher were chatting. The teacher stopped mid sentence, looked at me and said, ‘sorry, I was just distracted by this lady’s gorgeous engagement ring!’. Literally the first time anyone has commented on my ring apart from when I got it nearly 20 years ago!

CluedoAddict · 11/02/2019 08:07

My smile. Apparently I light up the room.

TrueFriendsStabYouInTheFront · 11/02/2019 08:10

I've been complimented several times on my social skills. I can talk to anyone and get anyone talking, it's my superpower haha

My eyelashes, I've been told I'm like a jersey cow, gee thanks Grin

Elephantina · 11/02/2019 08:12

Quimreaper me too, I'm always being told I have lovely long nail beds! I'm a bit mystified really.

I don't get many, I'm ordinary, but if I do get a comment it will be on my long eyelashes or thick hair. Or being hilarious. I'm short and fat so I'll take whatever I get.

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 11/02/2019 08:20

Having lovely well mannered dc!!
Just average imo. But my death stare in public ensures good behaviour!!

FireCrotch · 11/02/2019 08:20

My nose. It (apparently) looks like a perfect after nose job nose. About 4 or 5 times ive been asked.

JaneJeffer · 11/02/2019 08:25

I have beautiful ovaries according to my gynaecologist. I'll take his word for it.

Nodrama999 · 11/02/2019 08:31

My DHs eyelashes. They are so long and full, and they curl up naturally. 😂

thebabessavedme · 11/02/2019 08:31

my macaroni cheese - dds friends would request it for tea as it has 'the best crispy bits' (burnt) Grin

QuimReaper · 11/02/2019 09:01

JaneJeffer You've just reminded me that at my last smear test I was awarded "The Cervix Award" by the nurse Halo
