Because I have trouble picking just one! If I have to, I'd say mine is Whisper by Evanescence. Yes it's depressing but I think of it as my happy song. Smile

This should work:

open.spotify.com/user/escuriotoro/playlist/7lbFW3AdNilPyJyDKZH389?si=EfCHcXYARQCu1VcPAep8Uw

I listen to it loads!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 08/02/2019 18:23

Suede - The Wild Ones
although it’s been eclipsed slightly by their recent song Life is Golden

FrenchyQ · 08/02/2019 18:33

Take on me..A-ha

Anyone can play guitar by Radiohead, though I love so many, Annie's song by John Denver is a close second and Eva Cassidy's somewhere over the rainbow ...

TheSassyAssassin · 08/02/2019 19:05

Hmm was going to say Wicked Game by Chris Isaak but as that's already been said a couple of times will go for When Doves Cry by Prince instead Smile

bpirockin · 08/02/2019 19:11

Oh my goodness, so many great songs on here, as well as many I'm sure I'll recognize upon hearing, but will definitely be looking up (Rockabilly gal at heart but venturing out a bit more LOL).

Awful thing to ask - one song??? - mainly because I don't have spotify and won't be able to work my way through what will amount to an undoubtedly great music education.

I also like Against All Odds, Wicked Game, and many others. I love to sing along to "I can't help myself" -The Four Tops, most Drifters songs - but "You're more than a number in my little red book" is up there, "What a Wonderful World", Louis Armstrong , "Bad Things" by Jace Everett, and as well as Eva Cassidy's version, I love "Somewhere over the rainbow" by Izrael Kamakawiwa'ole (?)

Dancing Queen - Abba

Discombobulated9 · 08/02/2019 20:08

Bitch by Meredith Brooks, absolutely love this song

SpanielEars070 · 08/02/2019 20:16

Has to be a "Sky full of stars" by Coldplay...... my stillborn son has always been my little star, and this song just makes me feel really happy thinking of him and my very lovely DDs. I always scream my lungs out and cry when they play it live.

But I'd also say The Boys of Summer by Don Henley... takes me right back to being 15, and in love with the loveliest boy at school who never even looked my way. Even now I get shivers down my spine when I hear it.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/02/2019 20:26

Raspberry Beret, no contest

Belindabelle · 08/02/2019 21:03

ShannonRockallMalin · 08/02/2019 21:18

@Belindabelle aah, Teenage Fanclub! Been a while since I heard that one!

Thanks for the playlist @CoperCabana!

thebabysmellsofpooagain · 08/02/2019 21:21

Oh my god! What an amazing thread! I'm sat in bed with my poorly little DC who is now fast asleep (thankfully, bless them!) and this thread has just cheered me right up (that and the cheeky glass of wine!)

Fleetwood Mac - Go your own way
ELO - Mr Bluesky
Phil Collins - In the air tonight

Although anything by the above is more than totally acceptable.

Marvin Gaye - Heard it through the grapevine
George Michael - amazing
Paul Weller - You do something to me

Then my 'happy' songs:
Bedouin Soundclash - when the night feels my song
Temper Trap - Sweet disposition

These are just a few that I can think of, I'm sure there'll be more as the thread goes on!

Thanks for this OP, you've brightened my evening 😘

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 08/02/2019 21:27

Why is it always just ONE? I've got lots and I've made a list of everybody else's on this thread so that I can go and listen to the ones I don't know...

Brilliant Mind - Furniture
Born Slippy - Underworld
Trance Atlantic Flight - Utah Saints
Angel - Jam and Spoon
The Way We Were - The Killers
Smile - Grant Lee Phillips
Blurred - Pianoman
Jump Around - House of Pain

I can't want to see what all the other posters will come up with.

Mewithane · 08/02/2019 21:31

Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol.

WhoNose88 · 08/02/2019 21:31

Tubthumping - Chumbawumbe (among many others.....but that one always cheers me up!)

HazelBite · 08/02/2019 21:33

As you are Rag n Bone Man
Different Corner George Michael
My favourite upbeat numbers are Justin Timberlake's Can't stop the feeling and Bruno Mars Uptown Funk
