Because I have trouble picking just one! If I have to, I'd say mine is Whisper by Evanescence. Yes it's depressing but I think of it as my happy song. Smile

As others have said, it’s impossible to choose one, but I’ve narrowed down my list to songs which hold a special place in my heart due to the fact they instantly take me back to a special moment in time.

The Beautiful South- A little time
Scissor Sisters- Take your mama
Queen- Somebody to love, Love of my life
The Killers- Mr. Brightside
Foo Fighters- Hero

WitchSharkadder · 11/02/2019 01:34

Oh and

Kate Bush- This woman’s work
Snow Patrol- Run

Some of y'all are cheating, so I'm adding Heaven's A Lie by Lacuna Coil, first song I ever heard from them and I'm hopefully seeing them in November!

Impossible to pick a favourite song but in this moment in time the one that popped into my mind is...

This Mortal Coil - Song to the Siren

Just so stunningly beautiful.

Marazzi87 · 11/02/2019 15:28

My favorite song of all times is I'm not in love done by 10cc back in 1975. The song gives me shivers and is very haunting. Or maybe its the gorgeous Eric Stewart that gives me shivers.

BrendasUmbrella · 11/02/2019 16:35

It would probably by something by BigBang (the legendary KPop band, not the TV show) either Haru Haru or Let's Not Fall In Love. Or maybe Crooked, a solo song from G Dragon. Four fifths of the band are currently about halfway through their military service and I miss them terribly Sad

She's like the wind from Dirty Dancing.

feelingverylazytoday · 11/02/2019 17:17

Yes yes yes to Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah. Stunning.

Bubastes · 11/02/2019 19:55

Hallelujah is one of those songs I've had to take a break from. I used to love Jeff Buckley's version so much but now it feels like the world and their wife have done a cover of it in the last decade. It's been cheapened! Grin

gingercat02 · 11/02/2019 19:58

Summer of 69, Bryan Adams. Nothing else comes close!

DiaryofWimpyMumm · 11/02/2019 21:44

Take it to the limit The Eagles
Comfortably numb pink floyd

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 12/02/2019 08:32

BubastesI know where you're coming from. I think the same about 'Perfect Day' too. On a related note, I was lucky enough to see Jeff Buckley sing Hallelujah live. Such a waste of a talent that he died so young.

feelingverylazytoday · 12/02/2019 14:25

Homosapien by Pete Shelley
Ever fallen in love by the Buzzcocks.

EastMidsGPs · 21/02/2019 14:15

Today it is Save The Last Dance For Me

Because in June last year DH developed sepsis out of the blue, nearly died, had emergency, life changing surgery. It has been a tough few months
This lunchtime, in a patch of sunshine streaming through our window these two daft 60+ year olds danced well shuffled to this song and I swear for a moment my heart simply stalled 😃😃

Steeve · 21/02/2019 15:03

It's Heart - Alone, I've been confabulating (always wanted to use that word!) for so long, but it's instant chills whenever I hear this. Goes back over 20 years to meeting DP.

However it's so hard to choose one, two or even ten as it's dependent on my emotional state. The song playing on the radio as DD was born is a poor song, but features due to powerful emotion linking it to the birth, for example.

thebabysmellsofpooagain · 26/02/2019 08:42

Sister Sledge - Lost in Music

movinonup · 02/03/2019 00:06

Another favourite is 'you'll be in my heart' by Phil Collins, it was on the radio as I gave birth to my DS and still as I held him for the first time!
I listen to it every year on his birthday, sobbing usually. The lyrics are perfect.

Moorfields · 02/03/2019 03:04

The original Valerie by the Zutons rather than the Amy Winehouse copy, although good not as good as the original. Imo
