Because I have trouble picking just one! If I have to, I'd say mine is Whisper by Evanescence. Yes it's depressing but I think of it as my happy song. Smile

Breakfast at Tiffany's - Deep blue something

Love is Easy - mcfly

Love this thread.

The winner takes it all by ABBA.

A quite wonderful song written by Bjorn about the breakdown of his marriage to Agnetha. He then asked his ex-wife to sing it, which she did with one of the greatest vocal performances in the history of popular music.

thebabysmellsofpooagain · 08/02/2019 21:58

@Jsmith99 similar scenario to Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood MAC. Lindsay Buckingham wrote the song about his split with Stevie Nicks and then got her to sing backing vocals!

schnubbins · 08/02/2019 22:07

Desert Moon from Dennis de Young (Styx)

At Seventeen from Janis Ian

CoperCabana · 08/02/2019 22:09

@anniehm What an interesting choice of Radiohead song as your favourite! (No judgement, one of mine is How Can You Be Sure which is a Pablo Honey b-side!)

@thebabysmells
Spot on. Then Stevie replied to Lindsey with the superb Silver Springs, which didn’t make it onto the original release of Rumours but was released as a B side. Such a great song :

“I’ll follow you down til the sound of my voice will haunt you.
You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you.”

SapphireSeptember · 08/02/2019 22:49

Wow, I wasn't expecting so many replies! Shock I know it's hard to pick just one favourite song, I have loads!

Like a dog this song is not just for Christmas :

Fairytale of New York (Pogues and Kirsty MacColl not the travesty by Ronan Keating)

The first few notes on the piano makes the skin on my neck prickle.
It was playing when I was in labour with my DS , so a song which brings back memories

CoperCabana · 08/02/2019 23:10

Added a couple extras.
