Because I have trouble picking just one! If I have to, I'd say mine is Whisper by Evanescence. Yes it's depressing but I think of it as my happy song. Smile

15 years by The Levellers. First song i ever heard of theirs in 1991 lifelong fan now almost 30 years later.

EastMidsGPs · 10/02/2019 07:59

@BubblegumFactory

Yes to Squeeze, couldn't decide on my favourite of theirs. The songs remind me of my mis-spent youth. Chris Difford has a brilliant way with words, his lyrics are well crafted stories.

Anyway ... an saving Some Fantastic Place for my funeral, so didn't put it in this thread.

Jimi Hendrix - All along the watchtower

Hmm where to begin?

Perfect Day (Lou Reed)
Because the Night (Patti Smith)
Golden Brown (The Stranglers)
Creep (Radiohead)
Say Hello, Wave Goodbye (Soft Cell)
Breathing (Kate Bush)
Interlude (Morrissey and Siouxsie)
Bad Dream (Keane)
Viva La Vida (Coldplay)
Hallelujah (Jeff Buckley)

And I could go on and on...

HeronLanyon · 10/02/2019 11:18

newmodelarmy great great choices. Saw Patti Smith few weeks ago. Because the night absolutely mega great. She’s an icon and in great voice and form. All up dancing. 10 feet from her - nearly blown away by crazy genius all gig.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/02/2019 11:26

HeronLanyon always had a bit of a girl crush on Patti Smith. Very envious that you saw her live. She is iconic. Not for nothing that she was very significant to Robert Mapplethorpe and Sam Shepherd, two of the stand-out creatives of the 70s/80s.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/02/2019 11:27

American creatives I should have said

Willy Nelson: Crazy
Bruse Springsteen: Drive all night

Missy Elliott: Get your freak on
Lou Reed: walk on the wild side
Etta James: Id rather go blind
Bb King: the thrill is gone

DianeAdores · 10/02/2019 21:56
