White woman identifying as a black woman

I have just come across this, I am speech less. She wants to move to Africa to be 'with her people'. Oh god how insulting and offensive.

Can't get that get up about it. If someone can insist they're female because they like glitter then why can't a whites person identify as black?

MrsTommyBanks · 04/02/2019 18:24

I've seen her floating about in a few online news sites.
I think the most mind boggling bit of her story is that she believes her future children will be born black. Apparently a doctor told her so it's true.

Petalflowers · 04/02/2019 18:27

I’m not sure about the ‘her people’ comment, but she has dyed herself black.

I kinda agree with Fire in that in many ways that’s no difference to a man identifying himself as a woman.

Maelstrop · 04/02/2019 18:27

Yeah, cos DNA doesn’t count! Hilarious!

AGHHHH · 04/02/2019 18:29

@Firestars
If someone can insist they're female because they like glitter

That sounds like bollocks. Who exactly has done this?

newyearsameshit · 04/02/2019 18:29

Of course, a white person will love everything black while being black and can still use her white privilege. Pathetic.

Aeroflotgirl · 04/02/2019 18:30

Oh wow she thinks her kids will be born black, what sort of doctor told her that😮😮😮😮

While being white *

I thought self-identification was the thing now.

Babymamamama · 04/02/2019 18:43

Indeed if anyone male or female can identify as a woman why is it different from "identifying" as black. On a serious note though is there such a thing as racial dysphoria... Being born in the wrong race?

Babymamamama · 04/02/2019 18:44

Or would it be ethnic dysphoria? Might be time for the Tavistock to setup a clinic.....

MrsTommyBanks · 04/02/2019 18:48

Oh wow she thinks her kids will be born black, what sort of doctor told her that

Probably the same one that she paid an awful lot of money to keep injecting her. And put size S implants in her breasts. Which apparently won't stop her breast feeding.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 04/02/2019 18:49

30s boobs? 😳

Sorry that’s as far as I got worth that nonsense. ‘My people’ 😆. Her people will smile politely and nod but still think ‘bonkers white woman’. Her poor baby!

Aeroflotgirl · 04/02/2019 18:51

They saw her coming. Self identifying seems to be all the rage, I believe this is taking it too far!

She isn't the first. Rachel Dolezal caused outrage and controversy a couple of years back.

Aeroflotgirl · 04/02/2019 18:54

I heard of he really, she even headed an organisation campaigning for black rights without people knowing.,

juneau · 04/02/2019 18:56

Surely it's no different to being transgender? If you can change your gender, then why not the colour of your skin? People have 'passed' as many other things over the years - it's just now that it's plastered all over the papers it's seen as being outrageous - but it's not that unusual.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 04/02/2019 18:57

She really doesn’t look black through. She looks like someone with makeup on.

MrsTommyBanks · 04/02/2019 18:57

That's her. Then got hurt feelings when the black community rejected her. Couldn't understand that being born white meant she didn't understand how it feels to grow up black in USA.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 04/02/2019 18:59

Not very bright then. Oh dear.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 04/02/2019 19:01

Sadly I can’t see the comments in the article. I bet they are amusing!

Aeroflotgirl · 04/02/2019 19:02

Exactly, MrsTommy, she just does not get it. Of course she has been ostracised by the black community, as she decieved them, is in effect insulting them. How can Rachel Dolezal be black when she has no clue about the struggles and history of black people. She has no black heritage, or ansestry.

I can imgine the women in the post office queue in downtown Nairobi not being very impressed with her blustering about ‘we’ and ‘us’ in her thick English(v? I’ve not heard her speak and only hope to god she isn’t trying out her ‘black’ voice) accent.

Beerflavourednipples · 04/02/2019 19:05

You can 'self identify' as whatever you want these days apparently. So if that's the case, what's wrong with a white person 'self identifying' as black?

BettyJJ · 04/02/2019 19:05

Better than a black person pretending to be white. I actually think it's nice when a white person appreciates black culture.
