I have just come across this, I am speech less. She wants to move to Africa to be 'with her people'. Oh god how insulting and offensive.

She isnt just saying ‘oh I love Kenya - the people the food the lifestyle - I want to live there like a local’ she is saying ‘I’m black and my baby will be black’ (because she is taking drugs to darken her skin). Bonkers.

Lily Madigan, former Labour Women's Officer and lauded as a stunning and brave 'rising star', is on record saying that they could get pregnant with their male reproductive system.

Are they identifying at Minnie Mouse now?

AGHHHH · 05/02/2019 00:36

@reallyanotherone Hmm No, I haven't been under a rock. I was obviously referring to the part where people can identify as a woman because they "like glitter". Do use your head next time. Thanks.

InionEile · 05/02/2019 00:57

And I thought Rachel Dolezal was one of a kind. Clearly I was wrong! This woman’s behaviour is offensive and strange but so are many things in the world today.

MistressDeeCee · 05/02/2019 02:53

Why can't a conversation about this particular cultural appropriation be had without mentioning 'Transgender' 1 minute into the thread?

If it's ok for a man to Self-ID as a woman then why are many women complaining about it?

The racism lies in not even an inkling or acceptance of a direct insult to black women.

White privilege dressed up as a black parody but, you know - nicely able to swerve the microaggressions that come with being black, specifically a woman.

I'm not bothered about this idiot.

But interested in the deflection surrounding her.

The Feminism board was even worse on this subject. Yet over there they loftily believe they're the 'intelligents'. Self-appointed Voice Of All Women.

Banging on relentlessly about it bring exactly the same as Self-ID. Yes dears..of course middle class male white privilege in a dress with a voice and platform parodying women, is exactly the same as a white woman parodying a nation of women who are at a disadvantage due to racism and prejudice, and others' denial of that.

After all this world is an equal playing field isn't it 🙄

Good to know Self-ID is suddenly all 'ok' now tho due to this woman and being deemed a conveniently useful comparison.

24 hours or less, the moaning and groaning about Self-ID will start again

The hypocrisy..

@arggh

I thought this was pretty obvious. Do use your head next time. Thanks

Hyperbole (/haɪˈpɜːrbəli/; Ancient Greek: ὑπερβολή, huperbolḗ, from ὑπέρ (hupér, 'above') and βάλλω (bállō, 'I throw')) is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. In rhetoric, it is also sometimes known as auxesis (literally 'growth'). In poetry and oratory, it emphasizes, evokes strong feelings, and creates strong impressions. As a figure of speech, it is usually not meant to be taken literally.[1][2]

It isn't ok; that's the point.

The racism lies in not even an inkling or acceptance of a direct insult to black women.

And the sexism lies in not even an inkling or acceptance of a direct insult to all women when a man self identifies as a woman.

White privilege dressed up as a black parody but, you know - nicely able to swerve the microaggressions that come with being black, specifically a woman.

Male privilege dressed up as female parody, swerving all the microagressions that come with being an actual woman.

Good to know Self-ID is suddenly all 'ok' now tho due to this woman and being deemed a conveniently useful comparison.

It isn't.

Self identifying as a different race or sex - both are offensive and false. Both appropriate the reality and struggles of a different group of people.

The hypocrisy..

I think you need to reread a few FWR threads.

RiotAndAlarum · 05/02/2019 06:43

I noticed that the story deadnamed her like crazy. Is that all right now?

RuggyPeg · 05/02/2019 06:51

Mistress - your view is all over the place. You bounce around from stance to stance, contradicting yourself with every sentence.

It's because the behaviour of the woman in question is so outrageously offensive that everyone agrees on it. And everyone knows that this woman is not black, will not have black children and its perfectly acceptable to say that out loud.

That is what people are comparing.

I have to say I'm not quite sure I follow your argument either.

reallyanotherone · 05/02/2019 09:35

This. This is fine to say, but change it to this: and it becomes offensive, hate speech, literal violence etc.

It's because the behaviour of the man in question is so outrageously offensive that everyone agrees on it. And everyone knows that this man is not a woman, and its perfectly acceptable to say that out loud

Why is ok to say “that white woman is not black”, but not “that man is not a woman”.

pombal · 05/02/2019 09:46

I think it’s sad, poor woman must be really unwell.
She needs help and compassion.
