Please does anyone have any suggestions or helpful finding spells, I'l try anything!

They are new ankle boots for school. They were here on saturday, she was going to wear them to go out and I got her to change into snow boots. Since then they haven't been needed so should have been here this morning, in the hall with all the shoes. They have just totally vanished! Could not find them anywhere in the house. It's driving me mad!

She is very sensitive / fussy / being assessed for asd and it's a bugger to find shoes that are comfortable for her, and they weren't cheap :(
please hit me with your ideas.... TIA. 🥾

What happened to the ‘old’ school shoes? Have they been put away somewhere as no longer needed and the new ones mistakenly put there too?

Are you sure you didn’t take the new shoes out wherever you were going with snow boot wearing DD for her to change into?

BrinkPink · 04/02/2019 17:38

We were going out for a walk in the snow, so didn't need them and I was sure they had stayed at home. The old school shoes are still in the hall, waiting to be ebayed (hardly worn because of fussiness!). The snowboots were also in the hall, but she took them to her room. She can't remember what happened when she took the school boots off, but I was there, and saw her kick them off in the hall.

Confused

You don’t live within an hours drive or Glasgow by any chance? 😂 I have managed to get DS to wear fluffy socks with the sandals on the wet and really cold days but people must think I don’t love him as much as his siblings who are all wearing boots, walking shoes/boots etc and he’s floating about in last years Sainsbury’s sandals 😂😂 at least they are like walking/outdoor type sandals and not flip flops 😂

Can’t veliev you still haven’t found them tho!

I do! :o

The thing is why do sensory issues have to mean that 99.9% of shoes are agony, but freezing snow on your socks isn't? It's so frustrating!

Penninepain · 04/02/2019 19:07

I don't suppose you have a dog?
Mine always takes a shoe or two to bed with her, pr9udly presenting them to you in the morning usually.
However her record stands at 7 shoes.....

So, any woofies?

Kismetjayn · 04/02/2019 19:11

With @webuiltciscity's one ankle boot and my other burgundy velvet heel?

All Christmas I went without my most Christmassy shoes. They best turn up for next Christmas...

Bluetrews25 · 04/02/2019 19:16

I bet they are in that locked safe, with no key, in that secret room you have just spotted through a crack in the wall off the pantry. With the cancelled cheque, cutted up pear and naice ham.
HTH, OP! Grin

BrinkPink · 04/02/2019 19:19

Don't have a pantry. I'm not that posh :o

You only think you don't have a pantry! It's been bricked up, too, OP!

Heismyopendoor · 04/02/2019 19:27

No way! We should have a crocs and sandals in the snow meet up 😂

poshredrose · 04/02/2019 19:32

They are beside something red.

Just popped into my head but I'm quite good at finding lost things Confused

littlemeitslyn · 04/02/2019 19:42

Posie 😂😂

yogima · 04/02/2019 19:44

If they were kicked off in the hall could they have been just put to the side by anyone left behind? We have an under stairs bit in the hall that sometimes eats shoes pushed to the side.

TheBluesAreStillBlue · 04/02/2019 19:50

Very interested in the answer to this as I think it may be in the same place as DD’s welly Grin I looked for it for a whole week before I have in and bought her new ones for the snow...and the most annoying thing is I know it must be in the house as the other one is!

BlewGoose · 04/02/2019 20:02

I once found wellies in a food cupboard. Check every single low down cupboard. Tv table/cupboard? Desk drawers?

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 04/02/2019 20:15

Do you have a radiator cover anywhere? We have one in our hall & it once took me 2 days to find my oldest son's trainer as it had got pushed under & round behind the front leg.

I've also found a shoe under the buggy before now.

Middle son's trainer & youngest daughters reading book were recovered from the duplo box the week before last (after 40 minutes of searching for the trainer)

As476 · 04/02/2019 20:19

This is going to sound utterly ridiculous, but I found my DDs school shoes INSIDE a pair of tights in the laundry basket. It took me 2 days to find them. I’d already purchased a replacement as they had vanished into thin air. She’d taken her tights off whilst leaving her shoes on, and they got rolled up inside.

Millie2013 · 04/02/2019 20:26

I was killing time in Sainsbury’s the other day and happened upon some school shoes for little ones which looked so incredibly comfy (memory foam type insoles, very soft heels). They might be good to try for a spare pair, for children with sensory issues Flowers
I hope you find the original ones though

Ouch44 · 04/02/2019 22:49

I bought DD a Xmas jumper took it home put it at the bottom of the stairs to go up later and it vanished! It's in the same place as your shoes! Still hasn't turned up a month later.

Either that or it's under the mattress where my watch that went missing turned up a year later.

AJPTaylor · 05/02/2019 08:15

Bet they are hidden in plain sight.

BrinkPink · 05/02/2019 09:17

FOUND!!!

In my bedroom, wedged behind the hangers on my clothes rail Confused

The embarrassing thing is I can't see how they got there unless it was me who did it - maybe chucking them out of sight in a rushed moment, to avoid DD seeing them again and getting upset. But I don't remember this which is a bit worrying!

Or it was the ghostie Shock

After all of you have been so kind (and hilarious), I'm sorry not to provide a more exciting denouement, like an eagle depositing them on the windowsill.

But Poshredrose - they WERE next to a red cardboard box on the shelf beside the rail! wooooooooooooooooooo :o

No dogs, so can't blame them. One very bad cat, but she couldn't pick up a pair of boots (and is too lazy anyway).

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 05/02/2019 10:14

Hurrah! In a another woooooooo moment, I was coming to post to say my missing boot has turned up Shock I have a box (Ok this may be a shoe box Blush) in my bedroom with sellotape, scissors etc in and I think I put one Hmm boot in this box. For some reason. Anyway. It has turned up.

Now, seeing as this thread is clearly lucky please can someone find my brand new lipstick that fell off my chest of drawers and has disappeared completely in a room that has very little furniture in it? Poshredrose (AKA St Anthony Wink) any ideas?

Bluetrews25 · 05/02/2019 10:15

No, actually your DD hid them in your wardrobe for a reason. (To protect the complex workings of the special adaptations and keep them close to her exit portal - we all know now that wardrobes are gateways to other places). I have been cleared to tell you that DD is an under cover agent for MI5 and these boots were specially kitted out with gadgets in order to help with her next secret assignment to protect Peppa pig from being kidnapped / wipe the Baby Shark song from everyone's minds / be the youngest ever Strictly winner / or other exciting, age appropriate shenanigans.
She will, of course, deny it, as she has been trained.
HTH

This thread will self-destruct in 90 days........

BrinkPink · 05/02/2019 10:19

WeBuilt :o that makes me feel a bit better!

I HATE it when you drop something (for me usually a pin or a bead) and you hear it hit the ground and then it just disappears completely. When I drop things I try to look as fast as I can to see where they land but they often still just bounce off into oblivion.

Lippy might roll though, could it have gone all the way across the floor and be under something on the other side of the room?
