Please does anyone have any suggestions or helpful finding spells, I'l try anything!

They are new ankle boots for school. They were here on saturday, she was going to wear them to go out and I got her to change into snow boots. Since then they haven't been needed so should have been here this morning, in the hall with all the shoes. They have just totally vanished! Could not find them anywhere in the house. It's driving me mad!

She is very sensitive / fussy / being assessed for asd and it's a bugger to find shoes that are comfortable for her, and they weren't cheap :(
please hit me with your ideas.... TIA. 🥾

In the washing machine?

ApolloandDaphne · 04/02/2019 12:05

I would have guessed the box or bag they came in.

Does she have a pe kit bag or library bag?

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll wake up at 3am and realise where they are.

Or you'll find them when you pack for a summer holiday..Confused

Nomdejeur · 04/02/2019 12:19

Inside the snow boots?

Heismyopendoor · 04/02/2019 12:22

Sorry, don’t have any ideas but I do hope you find them.

I have to say though, I laughed a little wen you said your dd was wearing old crocs and it’s February. My DS has some sensory issues and he wears sandals most days, including in the snow 😂😂 can we be friends? Lol

anniehm · 04/02/2019 12:31

Another child wore them? Under the washing pile? Garage? Where were the snow boots ... near there

GroggyLegs · 04/02/2019 12:38

I once found an AWOL shoe buried at the bottom of the duplo box - any crates of toys around?
Under sofa cushions, right at the back?
Behind the TV stand?

If I'm REALLY desperate, I turn all the lights off and search the room with a torch, sort of focuses my attention in a very small area so I don't miss it, but it would be helpful to know at least the room it was in for that!

HoraceCope · 04/02/2019 12:41

I find looking for something else turns up missing things, cant find my hat, look for the hairbrush!

MyFootHurts · 04/02/2019 12:43

Groggy - I've done that with the torch too. It can be quite effective, (although also shows up the bits that I haven't cleaned very well).

Mycathatesme · 04/02/2019 12:46

Try visualising the shoes back in your possession, or asking them where they are and to come back to you.

GummyGoddess · 04/02/2019 12:46

Half hidden in a baby toy, behind curtains or blinds, under the stairs, kitchen cupboards?

thehorseandhisboy · 04/02/2019 12:53

I lost ds's shoes once for ages. They turned up still in the bottom of a pair of trousers that he'd taken off and and that had been hung on a peg.

diplodocus · 04/02/2019 12:57

Do you have a dog? Friend's dog once buried DDs shoes under the trampoline.

SeaToSki · 04/02/2019 13:07

Has she put them somewhere to be ready for school. Like in her school bag, next to her school uniform, by the breakfast cereal

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 04/02/2019 13:12

With my one single ankle boot that is missing in my house? Maybe they ran off together? The only thing more annoying than losing a pair of shoes, is losing one of them Angry HOW?!

Well, I hope yours turn up. Fingers crossed for you. Has anyone said outside the external doors? Or praying to St Anthony? Grin

ForeignnessAlert · 04/02/2019 13:14

In her school bag?

DameSquashalot · 04/02/2019 13:17

I was going to suggest school bag too.

KMoKMo · 04/02/2019 13:19

If they haven’t turned up in any of the places suggested I’d do a methodical search of each room. Pick a starting point and work clockwise checking everything - high and low, inside of things - as you go. At least that way you know you’ve done a thorough search.
Could they have been left in the hallway and stolen? Would anyone else have removed them from the house? Have you checked cars, buggy baskets, garage etc?

Dandelio · 04/02/2019 13:21

I was going to suggest praying to St Anthony.

HelenaJustina · 04/02/2019 13:32

My car key which should have been in my handbag turned up after a swift prayer to St Anthony (and a promise of £5 in the poor box) whilst I stood in a freezing Waitrose car park last week. I had turned the whole bag inside out...

I have a similarly ASD ‘fussy’ child so feel your pain. Go through a room at a time, even places they can’t possibly be! My DC would have moved them and put them somewhere random but now be unable to see them.

BertieDrapper · 04/02/2019 13:34

Whenever I can't find anything I ask the universe "universe can you help me find ....." always works.... and yes I know is woo but it works

NeopreneMermaid · 04/02/2019 13:43

When our DD lost her school shoes, one of them turned up a few days later on the lawn, covered in and full of soil and with the strap bitten off. The other one never reappeared. Conclusion: she left them outside and foxes took them.

shalll · 04/02/2019 13:53

Cross examine any younger children.

My 4 year old will move stuff to the most unlikely places and deny all knowledge. But if the item is described in great detail, will say "oh yes I dropped that in the rolled up carpet in the garage" or something like that.

kelper · 04/02/2019 13:57

DS lost a pair of school shoes one morning, this was 4 years ago and they still haven't turned up!!
He tends to pick stuff up and wander off with it, but absolutely not realise he's done so, which is the most frustrating thing! He has ADHD and his brain just doesn't focus on things!
If you think of the most obscure place, that's probably where they are! Would they fit inside the snow boots?
