Please does anyone have any suggestions or helpful finding spells, I'l try anything!

They are new ankle boots for school. They were here on saturday, she was going to wear them to go out and I got her to change into snow boots. Since then they haven't been needed so should have been here this morning, in the hall with all the shoes. They have just totally vanished! Could not find them anywhere in the house. It's driving me mad!

She is very sensitive / fussy / being assessed for asd and it's a bugger to find shoes that are comfortable for her, and they weren't cheap :(
please hit me with your ideas.... TIA. 🥾

When i lost my engagement ring I gave toddler dd another ring and watched what she did with it. She dropped it behind the headboard of our bed and that was where the engagement ring was too.

TitchyP · 04/02/2019 14:03

In the car? Dirty washing pile?

I hope you find them OP it's maddening when things just vanish.

When you do find them see if my hat is with them. Took it off the other day and it disappeared Confused

Where did you get the snow boots from? Check in the snowboot storage place.

Thank you all for the new posts! Still no shoes though I've been through the bin (yuck) and politely called on the universe and St Anthony.

Hoping DS might be able to shed some light on it when he's back from school.

Heismyopendoor :o I would love a friend like you! I hate that feeling that I'm being judged for bringing my poor child out in freezing weather in her shabby crocs. Especially when I'm wearing my nice cosy boots - it looks like I just can't be arsed to clothe her.

But the fuss about shoes makes it impossible to get out the door sometimes and so i have to go with it.

I love all the stories about your DC randomly dropping things into inaccessible places :o

CatsForLife · 04/02/2019 15:26

HoraceCope · 04/02/2019 15:36

In her bed?

BrinkPink · 04/02/2019 15:39

Her bed is often full of junk but no!

Under the kitchen/ dining room table, kicked off whilst eating
On the ground near the car, so you could put them in the boot
Recycling bin
Under a radiator

Bluetrews25 · 04/02/2019 16:31

Was going to say under her pillow or mattress, but see you've already checked the bed.
In the freezer? (Well, they are snow boots!) Outside the back door?

mytieisascarf · 04/02/2019 16:38

I too was going suggest school bag. Or the bin.... pil once bought son expensive startrite shoes. Literally took them out the box and put them on him. 10 mins later only one shoe could be found. Searched the house upside down. A few hours later i went to take rubbish out and just had a feeling... a bit of rummaging (no pride) and sure enough there was the shoe lying under the remnants of lunch and dinner and god knows what else. The bin is now the first place i look. X

mytieisascarf · 04/02/2019 16:40

Really didn't mean to send a kiss... bit mortified. But if you need it ...take it.

QueenArseClangers · 04/02/2019 16:49

One of DD’s school shoes went missing. Eventually turned up attached, Velcro to Velcro, stuck to DS’s coat in the wardrobe.
Do the boots have Velcro?

Seeleyboo · 04/02/2019 16:50

A buggy basket

BrinkPink · 04/02/2019 17:05

Don't mind a kiss! :o I'm always sending kisses on the wrong texts etc so I know the feeling.

theSnuffster · 04/02/2019 17:11

I really want to know where the shoes are! I absolutely hate losing things, I've been known to jump out of bed and and start searching because I can't settle knowing something is missing.

MonkeyfaceThereturn · 04/02/2019 17:13

Underneath the car. As in, actually underneath.

Down by the back door (outside)
Look on flat roof/conservatory roof.
Behind radiator.

Laska2Meryls · 04/02/2019 17:17

In your stash of supermarket carrier bags in the car boot? (if like me you leave them inside each other by the front door after unpacking to take out to put back in boot next time i go out )
In the washing machine
downstairs loo

pannetone · 04/02/2019 17:21

I’d be working on the theory that maybe your DD who loves the new ankle boots (and was ‘stopped’ from wearing them on Saturday) has put them somewhere very safe - and in
an unlikely shoe storage place. At least you have DD wanting to find the shoes so maybe prompt her to think of a place she’d put something precious she wanted to keep safe.

The other thing I’d say is when you’re looking you are physically moving stuff aren’t you? I’ve had the ‘can’t see for looking’ issue and could the (presumably) black shoes be camouflaged against other pairs?

You have checked where you got the snow boots out from haven’t you? And any other shoe storage place you have - we have out of season shoes n the cupboard under the straits for example.

Maybe you could do a ‘re enactment’ of DD putting on the snow boots and see if that jogs any memories!

pannetone · 04/02/2019 17:23

under the stairs not straits

BrinkPink · 04/02/2019 17:25

Checked the car and everywhere. I have looked in every imaginable place - in the fridge, in DS's schoolbag, in the cat carrier! I'm losing my mind.

It's such an unbelievable faff to get the right shoes, that I have now actually tracked down the same ones online and ordered another pair, before they go out of stock. Despite the expense. Now THAT will make them turn up surely!

I'm going to kick myself so hard when they pop up in some obvious place I haven't checked. Either that or they have actually been stolen by a ghost and that's a whole different kind of thread.

Love the "re-enactment" idea! We should also film it, complete with sad faces and crimewatch music.

Under the table, sofa? Behind the sofa or wrapped in covers on the sofa.
Behind the shoe rack - several times we've lost shoes and they've fallen behind.
In a charity bag? I always have one on the go.
Put in a toy box by mistake.
Have you asked her to tidy up? My dds just chuck everything into a box/cupboard or bag regardless if whether it lives there!!
Tucked under a radiator? Amazing how much space is under them!!

Longdistance · 04/02/2019 17:27

Has she left them at school by accident as she came home in trainers/PE kit on Thursday/Friday depending if you had a snow day?
