My favourite so far is DKNY Be Delious Apple. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to perfume, just stick to what I like. Or use whatever perfume i get given as gifts. But the DKNY is my favourite from the limited range I've used.

I like fruity, floral, soft fragrances. Hate spicy, strong ones. I'm looking for something for daytime wear.

How is Elizabeth Arden?

Also, I'd love to try them on first but I'm going to buy on Fragrance Direct so don't have that option.

If I could get some recommendations on here, maybe I could try them on when i go to the shops next time.

Thanks!

My personal favourites are Giorgio Armani Si and Chloe, the original signature fragrance. I like a few others but those are my preferred 2. Really dislike Marc Jacobs Decadence, far too sweet and far too overpowering.

Beautiful is a classic perfume. Im saving for some Mon Paris (YSL I think).

Somewhere on this site there is a board/thread about perfume. Lots of great advice on there.

Ghost Dream. I have a few more expensive perfumes and this one is at the cheaper end and the one I get most compliments on! It's very soft and powdery, such a lovely scent!

mimibunz · 15/01/2019 09:40

Tory Birch signature scent is gorgeous.

DoingMyBest2010 · 15/01/2019 09:41

Anything from Philosophy - Pure Grace is my favourite.

golddustwomen · 15/01/2019 09:42

Chanel chance original. Love it

Ironfloor269 · 15/01/2019 09:47

Thanks. I'll check these out. Most of these are way over my budget though. I was thinking more along £25-£40 lines... 😊

Cerutti 1881 is cheap and smells lovely. I think it doesn't last though, no cheaper perfumes I've tried last very long.

TheKurgan · 15/01/2019 10:53

Ghost whisper. Nice floral daytime scent. Not expensive.

MeetJoeTurquoise · 15/01/2019 11:00

My absolute favourite is Hugo Boss, Ma Vie.

justilou1 · 15/01/2019 11:01

You like fresh fragrance - the DKNY Apple ones are light and juicy. Maybe you could try the Arden Green Tea ones (there are a few different versions to try) or Sunflowers. I think they are not too far removed from what you love already. Also Marc Jacobs Daisy perfumes might suit you too.

GinTimeAtHome · 15/01/2019 11:02

Ghost is one of my every day ones. I have two one is blue and I don’t know the name and the other is Ghost Dream

I also like Lancôme La Vie Est Belle (??) this is quite expensive!

I also like black Xs for women.

And I have some cheap Avon ones which are nice but never seem to last the full day.

Ironfloor269 · 15/01/2019 12:44

@justilou - yes, that's my type of perfume! Thanks, I'll give the Arden Green Tea a go. I tried the Marc Jacobs Daisy but didn't like it for some reason - too strong, not as fresh as the DKNY ones..

Although on the lower end of the price range, the DKNY ones seem to last long enough for me. But I guess the more expensive ones last even longer?

I love La Vie Est Belle but can't afford it right now.

And thank you all do much for the recommendations. It really helps to narrow it down.

I love Cool Water, it isn't that expensive and smells really fresh.

fantasmasgoria1 · 15/01/2019 12:49

Flower by kenzo
White diamonds
Dkny night
Moschino cheap and chic

Poison, Black opium and deep euphoria I wear on nights out
I have around 20 bottles of assorted perfume though!

If you look at the Feel Unique website, you can order 5 perfume samples for £3.95 (not just perfume, skincare samples etc too).

It's a really good way of finding out your preferences and finding one you really love. Also, if you like £££ perfumes but don't don't have a £££ budget (like me) you can buy decants on eBay (pick a good feedback seller ideally with photos of the original bottles).

I can't link but there is a lovely friendly perfume thread in Style and Beauty, where you will get lots of recommendations!

Springmachine · 15/01/2019 14:57

How about jo malone orange blossom?

EssexGurl · 15/01/2019 16:03

For cheaper ones, look at M&S. I’ve got a couple of nice ones there and they don’t break the bank!

Moondancer73 · 15/01/2019 16:05

Femme by Hugo boss

Ironfloor269 · 15/01/2019 17:05

Thanks for the Feel Unique tip.

Jo Malone and M&S is a good idea, however, might be better as a deodorant etc. rather than a perfume iykwim.

I have a big birthday coming up. I might ask DH to buy a premium perfume mentioned upthread as a gift.

Lush do very reasonably priced good quality perfume (because they don't spend silly money marketing it) from decent ingredients.

Branleuse · 15/01/2019 17:17

if you go on fragrantica, and type in the perfumes you know you like, then they often give recommendations of perfumes that other people who like that perfume also like.
