My dog died and hour ago. I'm absolutely devastated.

He was only 6 years old. He's been totally fine, no issues, asleep beside me on the sofa as usual. I got up to let him outside before I went to bed and he'd just gone. I can't believe it.

My thoughts are with you.

Alliwantisthisorthat · 12/01/2019 23:34

I'm so sorry for you lost.

I know it's something you don't even want to think about now but maybe see if the vet can find out what was wrong. I think it would help you in the coming weeks.

Lipsticktraces · 12/01/2019 23:37

So very sorry op. Dogs are our family.

Sending you Flowers

Hooleywhipper · 12/01/2019 23:38

I am so sorry for your loss, what a terrible shock for you 😣

ILoveChristmasLights · 12/01/2019 23:39

OMG. You poor thing. That’s really shocking as well as devastating. It’s not for everyone I know, but if it were my dog I’d wrap her up in a blanket and cuddle her on me for the night. If that’s too much for you pop a blanket on him & make him cosy on the sofa for tonight. What breed is he?

Big hugs x

SirVixofVixHall · 12/01/2019 23:40

What a terrible shock. So very sorry op.

Very hard to think about it now but you could have a post mortem done if you want to know what happened, although you may well not see any point.

MrsTommyBanks · 12/01/2019 23:42

How awful I'm so so sorry Flowers

HarrySnotter · 12/01/2019 23:44

DH is here and as devastated as I am. I don't know how we're going to tell the DCs, they both adore him but DS (14) is absolutely besotted with him. He'll be so heartbroken.

Apart from that I loved ddog so much. He's a chocolate lab and the most loveable, affectionate dog I've ever known. I know people will think it's silly but he is such a huge part of our lives.

BlueTongueSkink · 12/01/2019 23:50

It's not silly at all OP. They are a huge part of your life.

So sorry Flowers

ErrolTheDragon · 12/01/2019 23:50

ThanksI'm so sorry. Of course we don't think you're being silly, it's a horrible shock. We lost our last dog suddenly, though he was 11 not just 6, it's awful.

Missythecat · 12/01/2019 23:53

I'm so sorry. What a shock Flowers

CormoranStrike · 12/01/2019 23:54

This is tragic.

Do you want to tell us about him and share a photo?

Singlenotsingle · 12/01/2019 23:56

So sorry to hear that OP, and you're not silly at all. A dog is a person. Flowers

HarrySnotter · 12/01/2019 23:57

@Cormoran he is the most beautiful dog. An absolute greedy pig and a thief of anything that isn't nailed down, but I could forgive him anything. I've always said he is the funniest dog in the world but I guess we all think that.

FreshlyWashed · 13/01/2019 00:01

Anyone who has or has had a dog will understand Harry. Of course they're part of the family. All that unconditional love.... a lot more grateful than the DC! And 6 is FAR too young. Flowers

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/01/2019 00:01

Awwwww he sounds delicious
Have you had him from a baby.

MargotLovedTom1 · 13/01/2019 00:03
