But I visit y'all every spring!

Mum2OneTeen · 13/01/2019 04:51

Australian living in remote bushland paradise on the edge of a coastal lake in far south of NSW. I'm wasting time inside on Mumsnet when I should be cleaning out the shed.

Sending some cool coastal air to Crabb near Canberra (where I was born).

crabb · 13/01/2019 04:56

Hi @Mum2OneTeen! Thanks for the cool air. It’s not too bad here today. Mumsnet is much preferable to clearing out the shed 😂

cordeliavorkosigan · 13/01/2019 04:56

West coast of Canada. Wish there was MN here!

UK national in South West France, hoping to apply for nationality this year but we've also just got our titre de sejour too.

echt · 13/01/2019 08:39

I'm English, though now an Australian citizen, and live in Melbourne.

Sgtmajormummy · 13/01/2019 09:35

I’ve lived, worked and raised my family in Italy for nearly 30 years but have never felt the need for dual nationality.
We’re all Europeans, right?
Or so I thought.

I’m going to let Brexit play itself out for a year before I decide whether I want to take up that option.
But I do feel as a British citizen abroad, so “expat” even after 30 years, that the rug is being firmly pulled out from under me.

blueskiesandforests · 13/01/2019 09:53

BertieBotts why not duel though - it's an administrative thing to make life easier, not your inner identity unless you want it to be! I'd get duel sorted now while it's still on the table...

Alsonification · 13/01/2019 09:56

The Netherlands. I am Dutch, lived in the UK for almost a decade and am married to a Brit. He thankfully has Irish heritage, so he's just got himself an Irish passport so we're all good with Brexit.

DH was headhunted by a university here. Initially it was just a 4 year contract but one of his colleagues told me that they'd never let him go. Sure enough we're still here 15 years on.

BertieBotts · 13/01/2019 11:33

blueskies embarrassingly I had no idea that was a thing! But anyway my German isn't good enough. I can get by with my A2 so I keep procrastinating doing classes or anything.
