We've moved as we like to travel, so living abroad with our rent paid leaves us enough money to go off on holiday at every school break. Simple as that really. Oh and because we like the sunshine.

FlorisApple · 14/01/2019 07:56

Sydney, and Australian, but married to a Brit. We lived together for years in the UK, so I got hooked on MN there, but then we emigrated, and as far as I'm aware, there's nothing that similar here (especially in tone Grin)

explodingkitten · 14/01/2019 08:28

Netherlands, Amsterdam. I am dutch, did live in the UK for a short while as a child.

WhatTheFronti · 14/01/2019 09:30

South Australian wine country here. Australian, met and married British. Travelled a lot together, lived in the U.K. but returned to my home region for kids/house/ affordable lifestyle. Love MN - style and beauty boards got me hooked initially.

RayRayBidet · 14/01/2019 10:18

I'm in Germany, in Munich.
I was made redundant. DH is Austrian (he lived in the UK for 20 years) and said it was a good place to live. Been here two years now but I find it really hard.
Kids seem happy enough.
The warm summer is nice, not keen on winter though. You get an ice cream headache if you go out without your hat.

Eponymous · 14/01/2019 10:35

Irish living in Australia after a couple of decades in the uk.

HulksPurplePanties · 14/01/2019 10:55

In the UAE. But I'm Canadian. Heard about MN from UK expat friends.

@AwakeNow
That’s cool. I’ll have to be sure to watch when it gets on tv.

Ireland - largest county. ☘️
Expat but definitely thinking about applying for Irish citizenship, even though we're probably the only people in our town not related to anyone else. 😳
Still hoping I'll wake up from the Brexit nightmare. 👿
Wondering what will happen to my U.K. pension contributions as I'm in my fifties and not currently working (sahm)
Someone suggested the other day that we'll end up paying a huge tax on any U.K. based income, inc pensions.
