Feel like Amazon prime isn’t worth it.

Purely because all the free films are usually old and shit, so often find myself paying for films (£3:50) rental! On tope of £79 yearly! But even the films they charge for are often old and sometime shit!

Plus, I often listen to amazon music but to get any decent stuff I’d have to pay an additional £7 monthly Confused

I quite like it myself.
Might have something to do with the fact that when DH and ds1 are watching different things on Netflix I can still watch something.
I'm also convalescing from flu and binge watching Bones. David Boreanaz. Mmmmm.

Sorry not health insurance. Vitality life assurance

I need to get 40 health points a week

8 points for 12000 Steps
3 point gym attendance
5 points minimum 20 minute work out where heart beat in cardio zone

It’s easy. And every month free amazon prime (plus loads of other benefits)

My health insurance with county medical. Bloody awesome also.

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 11/01/2019 19:35

What I hate about prime is that there aren't categories to search like on Netflix. So unless you know what you are looking for then you can't browse. The only show you a limited amount of stuff, that's what's really irritating, will be cancelling next month, but keeping Netflix.

I love it, more box sets that I can ever hope to get through, free books and music although I don't actually buy much from amazon.

But, if it's not for you you don't need the permission of the Internet to cancel it

Pemba · 11/01/2019 19:41

The delivery has definitely got worse. It used to be next day, now many items take 2 days, yet that is still apparently Prime Delivery. Also, if it was something you didn't need urgently you could select 'no-rush delivery' and wait longer (like up to a week) and you would then get a digital credit that you could use to buy kindle books, or music tracks or videos. I used to acquire loads of kindle books that way! But now they have cancelled that for ever apparently.

I have certainly ordered a lot less than I used to, especially over Christmas. My Prime lasts til the summer, I think I will try to watch everything I want to see from the free TV and films on Prime, then not renew.

Kemer2018 · 11/01/2019 19:41

Oh got it with student discount. He pays the extra for music I absolutely love the music and I use it alot.
Film choice is a bit shit and I won't pay extra.
I've enjoyed
Man in the high castle
Jack ryan
Goliath
Bosch

But I'm disappointed that Benidorm isn't free. Me and Dd cackle along to the older series.

But i love all the documentaries. Nature, travel, geography, engineering, radioactive/nuclear there's so many for me.

Trouble is, nobody at work watches what i watch so I can't discuss it with anyone.

UpTree · 11/01/2019 19:45

thanos it’s not all new films! Harry Potter for example!

I ordered some light bulbs and batteries this morning (thrilling) and they were delivered an hour ago.

I use it mainly for the delivery but get pissed off with the music and think all music should be included. Or if they want to charge extra, just round it up to £10, not pay an additional £7/10!

UpTree · 11/01/2019 19:46

We love it. Use it only, no arial on our tv.
Saying that, I put kodi on it so we can literally watch anything. Why don’t you do that?

UpTree · 11/01/2019 19:49

Yeah mrs I think thay’s what annoys me the most. I search a song, even an old one! And it’s on unlimited Confused

We have done that a few time espo but you have to re do it constantly with new streaming services. Drove me mad! Might try it again though.

The Marvellous Mrs Maisel
Outlander

That's it for me, but it's worth it for those alone.

helacells · 12/01/2019 00:48

Never used it for tv or music, strictly shopping. Can't beat the two day shipping and they undercut everyone

Notreallyhere2 · 12/01/2019 00:55

I Usually get prime at Christmas at student rates and then end up
Cancelling. The tv/film stuff is just set up so badly that I get annoyed that ds is just spending so much time flicking between choices rather than actually watching stuff.

The delivery is handy but lots is now 2 day rather than next day and I’ve never tried the music as I already have apple and Spotify.

MiniMum97 · 12/01/2019 01:02

I love prime. Have you watched Mrs Maisel? Brilliant.

Titsywoo · 12/01/2019 01:03

Worth it for me for the free deliveries. I still get things next day. Maybe it depends where you live. I must order at least 100 things a year from them.

spoon19996 · 12/01/2019 02:36

I got it for free next day delivery and greys anatomy but now I've caught up and I don't buy much 😂 i agree it's not worth it

I feel the same about Netflix too that a lot of the stuff isn't great, it's gotten better but still not really my go to either

Struggling for tv shows so badly!

lostinjapan · 12/01/2019 03:19

I just buy a months membership at a time (for £7.99) whenever I desperately need one day delivery for something (which is maybe 3 or 4 times a year). Then I binge watch Prime Video for that month and make the most of the next day deliveries. I find I get better value for money that way.

I did have yearly membership once, but didn't think it was worth the money. I don't use Amazon Music, as I'm happy with Spotify. The next day deliveries are good in an emergency, but usually I'd rather order from a marketplace seller for cheaper and wait a couple of days for delivery. Prime Video is OK, but there's not a huge amount on there I want to watch (it suits me better to watch everything I can during my month's membership, then go back to Netflix the rest of the time).

CluedoAddict · 12/01/2019 08:04

It's rubbish for programmes. Anything decent you have to pay extra for. We had a one month trial over Christmas and it was handy for deliveries but that's all.

AnotherEmma · 12/01/2019 08:16

Homecoming is good (an Amazon Prime exclusive I believe)
And I'm working my way through Grey's Anatomy Smile

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 12/01/2019 08:31

I'm on my third trial in six months, just for the free p&p. DW gets it free through her car insurance (AA, if you're interested).

AiryFairy1 · 12/01/2019 08:41

This is Us and Marvellous Mrs Maisel are so far my favourite shows (finally downloaded the app this week after about 6 years of “next day” delivery)

flingingmelon · 12/01/2019 08:50

Does anyone use the Music? Is it any good? We use prime loads but I don't know whether I'd be mad to cancel my Spotify?

MyOtherProfile · 12/01/2019 08:56

We got it for the delivery but now find that often things are more expensive on prime and it will say that the same item is available cheaper not on prime. And Spotify is much better for music so we are going to cancel it.
