Hate my highlighted hair!

So I have had my natural hair colour for about a year now, so decided a change!
I went to the salon and had a professional full head of highlights put in to my light brown hair. Well it’s light blonde/grey/white and I hate it!

I believe the highlight colours I have are the ‘in’ colours atm so I’m guessing that both stylist and I had a different perception of ‘highlights’ I didn’t show her a pic Blush

Anyway, I want it changing! It looks way too artificial, I was hoping for that natural sunkissed blonde Grin

But now I have gone blonde I am not sure I want it blonde at all! I’m so indecisive about my hair! I’m thinking of a nice warm dark/choc brown/brunette! Totally different I know!

My question, from this very long winded post (sorry!) Is this possible at a salon?.... To go brown, oess than a week after highlights?

Oh and use a good purple shampoo once a week. Use latex gloves when rubbing into your hair unless you want your hands to stain.

Another vote for your new look. Its great.

I highlight my hair and flip between darker and lighter variations on the same few colours.

Rafabella · 08/01/2019 00:23

Very good advice from @zenNudist - if your highlights blend out in a few months, simply ask your hairdresser to mix in a few lowlights (slightly darker blond shade) to keep the highlights noticeable and defined. Then alternate back to highlights and so on. I always get a few baby lights around the face too - tiny ones.

I’n glad you all say it looks okay! My 9yr old said I look like and old lady Confused

@I’ve had a pizie cut before so not tok worried about the drastic change.

But I’ll try stick it out, the low lights sound like a good idea! Thanks

It looks amazing! Honestly, I went blonde this summer and hated it - massive shock - but now I love it. PP is right, you need to change your make up, potentially clothes etc so it takes time to adapt but honestly you look fab. Live with it fir at least 6 weeks, then see how you feel.

SD1978 · 08/01/2019 07:03

As someone else mentioned- use a purple shampoo once a week- tones it down without losing the blonde, but makes it a tad less brassy. Personally thinks it looks lovely and it's more shock at the change than it looks bad on you

Loveweekends10 · 08/01/2019 07:04

I like it

michonn · 08/01/2019 07:09

I love it!!!

OhFlipMama · 08/01/2019 07:13

The first time I had blond highlights, I cried and didn't want to leave the house. Within a few days I'd become used to it and received many compliments! It's a big adjustment, yours looks gorgeous.

LaurieFairyCake · 08/01/2019 07:13

Looks lovely 😊

Don't ask 9 year olds Grin

Can your/her hairdresser put a gold toner over it if the highlights are too light/white?

ZeroFuchsGiven · 08/01/2019 09:05

I love my white highlights, took years to get the colour like yours.

WhoKnewBeefStew · 08/01/2019 09:09

I think it looks lovely

AgentProvocateur · 08/01/2019 09:10

Your hair looks lovely. Although, in the first pic, I thought your scarf was a full neck tattoo 😂😂

CryptoFascist · 08/01/2019 09:16

It looks lush, you just need to get used to it I think.

Hogtini · 08/01/2019 09:21

It's lovely, much better than your before pic. Looks v expensive and glossy. But yes perhaps ask about the gold toner if you're finding it too light?

Katinkka · 08/01/2019 09:24

OMG it’s gorgeous. Stop chowing as we say in Hull.

Babymamamama · 08/01/2019 09:28

Your hair looks fab. Just leave it to settle in. I find after a week or so they will mellow and you will love it once you start getting all the compliments. Be brave and keep it as is.

fishonabicycle · 08/01/2019 09:35

Leave it! It looks great. You will probably get used to it in a day or two 👍

notearthmum · 08/01/2019 09:40

Hi- looking at the picture I think the hairdresser must have used bleach to get such a high level of lift. If it's the 'greyness' you don't like about it, definitely don't use purple shampoo on it as this will grab on the really white bits and make it look even more ash. Purple shampoo tones down gold tones, which as you've gone so light, you don't really have. I I was your hairdresser I would add a few warm bits. Whatever you do though, don't try to correct it yourself by putting brown on top- it will go a delightful shade of khaki! I think it looks a lovely colour now. Smile

Namechange8471 · 08/01/2019 09:40

No offence but it looks a mess before
