i think I joined when Ds was around 9 months old, so 2003, and then stopped posting around 2013/14 ish maybe, not too sure.

Seems like a life time ago and was just sat here wondering if anyone from then was still around, or if we all buggered off.

Oh, thought that was going to post directly to who asked the question lol.

Yes the nutty who is still friends with CC, but definitely not the one who snogged dadslib. I do remember that but can’t think who it was 🤔

I’m crap at remembering names but I do remember you comp 😊

Not so long ago but I used to be on the Drunk Thread with @UsualSuspect, @MrsWembley and loads of others I can’t remember. I had a different name then. I went away one Friday night and when I came back, it had all kicked off and it was never really the same again. c2013?

BreevandercampLGJ · 06/01/2019 21:51

Nutty

Have messaged you.

triptrapdollydumpling · 06/01/2019 21:52

Have been lurking since about 2010 but have only started posting recently. Many, many names here who gave advice, support and encouragement. Flowers

Littlechocola · 06/01/2019 21:53

TheOriginalNutty · 06/01/2019 21:54

I first joined in about 2007/8 I was definitely pregnant at the time.

PhilipTheLamb · 06/01/2019 21:55

2002 here, lots of name changes.

Managed one meet up in about 2004, with

Betty Spaghetti / Norbert Destragle
Little fish
And lots of others.

WhiffOfBath · 06/01/2019 21:56

Blimey, so many blasts from the past here. BupcakesAndCunting was one of my other all-time favourite usernames.

@LaLaLamp, do you mean TrinityRhino? (another good name...)

I think the only thing that's really changed is that people now have to put 'lighthearted' to ward off the Looking To Be Offended Brigade.

madmum5811 · 06/01/2019 21:56

When I wandered back in, it was the beaker thread that had me clutching my sides. I wonder what is the funniest thread of all time.

Hate to say I rarely remember names they are so long now.

BreevandercampLGJ · 06/01/2019 21:56

I am laughing at myself saying Nutty I have messaged you...

Back in the day it used to be.... Oi...Messenger (Hotmail I think it was) now.... Grin

WhiffOfBath · 06/01/2019 21:57

Funniest of all time has to be snapped and farted. Even if only because the OP took it so bloody seriously. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 06/01/2019 21:58

I have been here since 2011 so a relative newbie.

Lots of names here I recognise but can't always remember why.

Macaroonmayhem · 06/01/2019 21:58

2006 here, joined during the SWMNBN debacle when I was 7mo preg. I have no idea what my username was, have changed it a few times as I recognised people and realised they might recognise me. (Someone from two desks along at work posted something incredibly identifying which I stumbled across a few months after it happened!)

GobblersKnob · 06/01/2019 21:58

What did the messaging on here used to be called? You used to have to pay.

BIWI · 06/01/2019 21:58

Moldies - a very brief summary!

Towards the end of 2008 a group of Mumsnetters, led by Twiglett and Lapin, decided that the intellectual tone of MN was going down the tubes, as the site got bigger, so they decided to set up a more exclusive site.

This was to be secret.

But - for some reason only known to them - they also decided to invite Justine. (How insensitive is that?! "We think your site is going down the tubes, why don't you come and join ours?")

At the time, MNHQ was small enough that if a load of posters suddenly disappeared, you would notice it. And also, MMHQ were experimenting with blogging - and Justine inadvertently let slip that there had been a breakaway group.

All this happened around the Christmas meet up (back in the day when we had a big London meet up, which was attended by a lot of MNHQ)

And then it emerged that those who had set up the breakaway group - dubbed Moldies - decided that it wasn't enough to have just them as part of it, but they needed more people to join. So they decided to invite more people from Mumsnet - but they had to be 'vetted' by the new site's committee first. So lots of people turned down, for various seemingly-random reasons - but only finding out after the Christmas party, when they'd been mixing with those who were supposedly their 'friends'.

It caused havoc. Posts over Christmas were allowed to run over the normal 1000 posts (some went to over 3000 posts). Justine admitted it had had her in tears. Carrie tried to stop people talking about it. It even made the national news.

Seems silly and pointless now, but it was a bit of a 'moment' in the history of the site. Lots of us over Christmas were glued to our laptops/phones as it all unfolded!

AtHomeInFrance · 06/01/2019 21:59

Hmm, been here since my dc were about 2 and 5, they are now 17 and nearly 20! Lots of name changes and the odd embellishment because I am neurotic about my privacy . I was of the avid and wise era, oh how I loved the avid and wise crew. Would love to hear what they are up to now.

GobblersKnob · 06/01/2019 21:59

That's so sad about CatThief I had no idea :(

nancy75 · 06/01/2019 21:59

Drookit the poster that bumped threads was puzzlerocks, she did it all the time

BIWI · 06/01/2019 22:00

@GobblersKnob - CAT
As in ' CAT me you cunt'!

Doobydoobeedoo · 06/01/2019 22:00

I joined in 2003 when I had a sleep-resistant toddler. He's now 18 and I have no idea where the years went.

I've namechanged too many times to remember but recognise many of the names on here.

UrsulaPandress · 06/01/2019 22:01

Cat me you cunt.

RustyBear · 06/01/2019 22:03

I remember you, Nutty! I’ve been around a while, started lurking in 2005, but didn’t post till early 2006, so coming up to 13 years.
