Anyone still around from the olden days ??

i think I joined when Ds was around 9 months old, so 2003, and then stopped posting around 2013/14 ish maybe, not too sure.

Seems like a life time ago and was just sat here wondering if anyone from then was still around, or if we all buggered off.

Llareggub is still my fave ever username. I liked TwoIfBySea too.

Baby ISBN is 7 now. I'm friends with nickel on fb.

Beerflavourednipples · 06/01/2019 21:26

When I joined the names I remember are Pagwatch, MrsDeVere, Bupcakes and Cunting/Marmalade Twatkins (funniest poster ever!), LaQueen, Dittany, Hecate, Riven and a few others that I can't quite remember.

Littlechocola · 06/01/2019 21:26

@AnyFucker I thought you had been here for much longer. I’ve said it before but you actually saved my life with your advice. I’m forever thankful.

I loved Bonsoir too! Is she still here? She was fascinating!

Beerflavourednipples · 06/01/2019 21:28

Who was the poster when it all kicked off on New Year's Eve one year?

LaLaLamp · 06/01/2019 21:28

I joined around 2007 I think, but have had lots of names, then went off for a while after the hack

ScrambledSmegs · 06/01/2019 21:31

I joined in 2009, but remember a lot of these names. I briefly titted around with some of the people who got accused of being 'larkers' and Royalty which left me feeling like I'd been touched by Bowie not in a pervy way and remember the box of frogs debacle with disbelief, still.

I think maybe it's CatThiefKeith who's been confused with FUChris? At least, I hope so. I knew about CTK and that was horrific.

TDWP and Mamazon invoked the banhammer, I believe.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 06/01/2019 21:31

Can someone tell me briefly what moldiegate is/was, please? I joined latter half of 2008

Drookit · 06/01/2019 21:31

Gentle Otter. I seem to remember loving her posts.
The furor when AF was going to have to change her name Grin

Tillyscoutsmum · 06/01/2019 21:32

Think I joined in 2006 but have never been a prolific poster. Lots of familiar names on this thread though Smile

Kbear · 06/01/2019 21:33

I've been here since 2003 but mostly lurk

loveisenough · 06/01/2019 21:33

I first joined in 2001 after having DC1

UrsulaPandress · 06/01/2019 21:33

It was CatThiefKeith who died.

Flossmequick · 06/01/2019 21:33
  1. A lot has happened since then in my life.

I remember Norks someone & Oddsockshigheels & Rubyrednails,

I read the original TRex in the supermarket thread as it was happening and thought WTF Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 06/01/2019 21:34

For horrific, read horrifically tragic, I managed to delete my typing. Sorry.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 06/01/2019 21:34

.... and I remember
Mrsdevere
scottishmummy
Expat
Anyfucker

LaLaLamp · 06/01/2019 21:34

I find it odd that I can't remember my usernames, I know which email addresses I would have used to join though. I remember a lot of the posters listed above. Didn't one of those listed get banned for making things up, an also what happened to Trinity, the one with the child named Gekko?

Bonkerz · 06/01/2019 21:35

Been here since 2003 ish. Always been bonkerz

ScrambledSmegs · 06/01/2019 21:36

Only one, LaLaLamp? Grin

WatcherOfTheNight · 06/01/2019 21:37

I've been around a good while, way before my NightWatch name & there are a few posters about from when I joined .
A few will say who they are but with others I've & recognised their posting style Grin!

Whilst it's true ,like most things ,it's changed on here, its still damn good at supporting parents when they need it ,even if it's not shouted about.

A lot of the support might not be obvious but I know from my experience ,people do reach out & genuinely care .
I don't think I would've got through the last 15 months without the support I've had here & that's from posters & from MNHQ.

It shocked me ,but I have to say I've had a lot more support here than IRL & the support has continued.

Thank you vipers Thanks
BrewGinWine

A member of the pushchair threads got outed as not having the baby she posted about. Posted on real nappy threads too. She had accepted gifts or secret Santa or something through MN and it turned out that her 'lil man' was a teddy bear. A bit sad really.

elQuintoConyo · 06/01/2019 21:40

nikelbabe was the live birth thread.

And oh my holy flaps, have I mixed up FuckYouChris and CatThiefKeith? Blush

Memory like a turd.

gnushoes · 06/01/2019 21:42

Joined in maybe 2010 when I began working from home and needed some virtual colleagues. I remember the Respite for Riven campaign, Scottishmummy, Expat, Pagwatch and HullyGully - and Bupcakes who was v funny. I think Bupcakes went on to be Marmlade Twatkins. There was also IamZombie who was inspirational. I've learned a lot here but mostly through lurking.

prampushingdownthehighst · 06/01/2019 21:42

SuePerbly built and DawnTigga are the first names I recognised when I joined around 2008.
Mumsnet has certainly changed but it is still a fantastic resource for women, it has certainly informed me over the years.

TheOriginalNutty · 06/01/2019 21:44

Yep that’s me 😁

I can understand why folk change their names. Some posters who take against a thread, state that they have been checking out the member on other threads. I guess there is a way you can cross reference, but it does seem somewhat stalkerish. It was a lot funnier once upon a time imo.
